The debut album from this neo-metal, Bay-area quartet was executive produced by Lars Ulrich, so there's much Metallica-style thud and crunch pulsing through these grooves. It's tough enough, and Andy Wallace's always-reliable mix covers many of the sonic flaws, but there's something mild and common about it all. In the end, just another new century rock roll band going through the motions.
