Pros: This album help me stay focused and spiritually minded.

    Cons: None

Listening to this album is both an inspiration and a celebration. Fred sings about emotional and spiritual events that take place in our lives, and keeps his interpretation parallel to what the Word of God says about living a Chirst centered life.

Pros: This is the most awesome one from Fred Hammond yet.

    Cons: None

When I first purchased this CD, I thought I only liked a few songs on it. As I continued to listen to it, I realized that every song was a number one hit! Don't overlook this CD.

    Fred Hammond Does It Again!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 6, 2004

    Pros: All 19 tracks

    Cons: none whatsoever

Fred Hammond is one of my favorite artists. I am also a big fan of Commissioned, which he was apart of.
I could name all the songs I like by Fred Hammond "When The Spirit Of The Lord", "He's God", "Jesus Is All", "Glory To Glory To Glory", "I Wanna Know Your Ways", "No Weapon", "Let Me Praise You Now", "Give Me A Clean Heart", "I Know It Was The Blood", "I Press", "Jesus Be A Fence Around Me", "You Are My Daily Bread", "Lord Of The Harvest", "Praise Him Through The Night", "We Are More Than Able", "That Ain't Nothin'",), but my all-time favorites are "We're Blessed", "Let The Praise Begin", "Please Don't Pass Me By", "I Want My Destiny", "You Are The Living Word", "Show Me Your Face", and "My, My, My God Is Good." This album is different from the rest (it doesn't feature RFC for one thing) and it has a somewhat retro sound, especially on "Celebrate (He Lives)", which makes you want to get and dance, and "Loved On Me." "It Just Gets Sweeter" was pleasantly surprising and different from any other song he ever made before. It became an instant favorite of mine. I also like "Praise Belongs To You" and "Not Just What You Say." The slower tracks took me a while to warm up to, but I can truly say I regret not one bit buying this album.

Pros: Excellent music, lyrics, and singing

    Cons: None

I don't particularly like Gospel music, but after hearing "Purpose By Design" I became an instant fan of Fred Hammond's music. I bought "Somethin' 'Bout Love" without having heard anything, and it sure didn't disappoint. This one's just as refreshing than the last one, if not more. He's not confined by the stereotypical sound of a lot of Gospel music. His music is freeflowing. I like just about every song on here and I really LOVE about five or six of them. The CD is such a joy to listen to, and is definitely inspirational. I recommend it for all music lovers.

    Fred Hammond The Great

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 21, 2004 | 0 out of 1 found this Somethin' 'Bout Love review helpful

    Pros: Great Project

    Cons: None

I don't know how Fred does it, but he never fails to put out an amazing project, and so the greatness continues on Fred Hammond's newest project, "Somethin' Bout Love". This cd is like no other studio cd I have ever heard. This isn't just music, but an experience. Once you put the cd in, you are suck wherever you are until the end. This cd really does make you think about the amazing love of God. I must say out of the cd's 16 full track (and 3 interludes), I love everyone of them. Some of my favorite tracks are no. 2 "Celebrate" which has a nice groove. No. 4 "Praise Belongs To You" with amazing background vocals by PamKenyon Donald and Juanita Wynn who help set the track off. Track no.7 "Loved On Me" is amazing with help from gospel greats such as Warryn Campbell, and Marvin Winans Jr. I love track 8 "A Closer Walk", it's a nice laid back song that Fred Hammond just took his time on, and keep it nice and smooth. Track 9 "I Will Find A Way" really shows deep emotion and encourages anyone who feels they have strayed from God to find a way to return to him. Track 10 "Love's In Need" featuring Musiq is a great Stevie Wonder classic redone. The end of this song burst out with the wonderful sound of Hezekiah Walker's Love Fellowship Choir, who put a nice twist on the end of the song (their harmony is so great). I ABSOLUTELY love track 14 "It Just Gets Sweeter". There are no words to describe the way I feel about this song, it is just great. Fred of course just made it even better by once again putting PamKenyon Donald of RFC on background vocals, with the amazing Melonie Daniels, who is a big hitter in the music industry. The last track "Your Name Is Jesus" just takes you right in. Fred uses the vocal styling of The Singletons and The Straight Gate Mass Choir just to give this song that extra edge I know he was looking for, and they just make it perfect (and this is just to name a few of the amazing tracks). This is really an outstanding project from the great one himself Fred Hammond. I believe if you have been a fan of Fred Hammond from day one then you should just keep on loving him and pick up this cd, because it is great. He is gifted, anointed, and talented, and it really shows on every track of this project.

    SIMPLY AWSOME!!!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 9, 2004 | 6 out of 7 found this Somethin' 'Bout Love review helpful

Pros: THIS WHOLE PROJECT IS ANNOINTED!!!

    Cons: NONE

WELL YALL, FRED HAMMOND HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!! AS P.DIDDY SAYS "HERE'S ANOTHER ONE AND ANOTHER ONE AND ANOTHER ONE". FRED HAMMOND HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO BUT TO CONTINUE TO COMPOSE GREAT MUSIC!!! HIS MUSIC IS ALWAYS FRESH TO WHERE YOU DON'T HAVE TO WONDER DID HE DO THAT SONG FROM THE LAST PROJECT BUT CHANGE THE MUSIC!!! FRED IS TRULY ANNOINTED FROM GOD AND SEEMS TO WAIT UNTIL GOD TELLS HIM TO WRITE AND FEED TO HIS PEOPLE. HE DOESN'T TRY TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT THE HIP-HOP AND R&B SOUND IS DOING TO WRITE HIS MUSIC EITHER. HE'S ALL NATURAL AND FRESH EACH AND EVERY PROJECT!!! THIS PROJECT "SOMETHING BOUT LOVE" IS SIMPLY MARVELLOUS. HE HAS TAKEN HIS TIME AND PUT THIS PROJECT TOGETHER WITH ALL THE RIGHT VOICES FROM BRIAN MCKNIGHT AND MARVIN WINANS AND MUSIQ AS WELL AS HIS OWN BACK ROUND HARMONY.
AND LET'S NOT FORGET HIS TALANTED MUSICIANS WITH DANIEL WITHERSPOON ON KEYS TO MARVIN ON THE DRUMS AND HIMSELF ON THE BASS!!! THE WHOLE PACKAGE AND THENSOME!!! "SIMPLY AWSOME"
