Dave Matthews is one of the greatest music artist ever to walk the face of the planet. the way he sings music is amazing, he has so many great songs, there isnt a song i havent enjoyed listening to, and i dont think there ever will be, dave kicks @$$

Dave has gone too far this time...fist he kills the sound that made him and the band famous, trading in great music for more money and fame...In his attempt to try to show vocal range, he shows how poor his vocal range really is....The songs are poor at best, sound like they were arranged by a novice...The only pro of this cd is the band he has assembled...if they only had a real singer songwriter leading them...

Amazing. It seemed a little mellow at first listen, as I listen to it over and over I hear something different each time. His vocal range never ceases to amaze me. I love the acoustic version of Gravedigger. Save Me is very upbeat and fun. I love the song Stay or Leave but really prefer the acoustic "Dave and Tim" version. The "electronic" sounds are a bit distracting to me. Other than that, love the album. It's a rough and haunting, and just a great listen!! I think it's great he is trying something new!! Love it!!

This is just a great piece of work. It extends the capabilities of Dave Matthew's talents in every respect. There's not a song on this album that I do not like and upon repeated listenings you can't help but be drawn further into this work of genius. Great stuff! Anyone missing out on this I can only pity.

I was a little unsure of this album at first but after a few plays I am loving this CD more and more. I am sure over time it will rank high as one of my favorite works of art that Mr. Matthews has created. One thing he has always been great at is brining together talented musicians to create a great musical masterpiece. Some Devil will not disappoint with a list of great musicians like, Trey Anastasio, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Seattle Symphony, Tim Reynolds, Tony Hall, & Brady Blade Jr how could it? MUST BUY!!!!!!!

I was awaiting this album very patiently. I have to say, this album is absolutely amazing. He has so much talent, and he knows how to use it. Even though it is just Dave, and all of the great intros and outros that the band puts in there, if you're a fan of DMB, you should like it, because it still in a sense, has the old Dave and the band feel with the guitars, the sax, and the choir and all. Go get this cd now. It's definitely something to check out.

Dave Matthews' Some Devil is some of the best works of art he has ever written. From bluesy mellow tones to up beat lighthearted tunes, all and all I give this album an A+. I didn't know what to expect being that I only heard Gravedigger, but I am absolutely awed by its passionate lyrical output and instrumental collaboration of talented musical guests. I must say that it is definitely diverse but it is undeniably Dave. Go out and purchase this album because you will be pleasantly surprised with its every twist and turn!

Overall great album for Dave. Always have been a huge DMB fan, now even more. Best tracks So Damn Lucky, Some Devil, Save Me, Stay or Leave, Oh, Baby, & Up and Away.
An' Another Thing continuation of Little Thing from Live at luther college? hmm...
Overall awesome, musically and lyrically.

I did not expect of this album when I heard of it's existance. However, Dave Matthews has created a true work of art in "Some Devil." Each track has its own history and its own beauty that can only be described as amazing. The falsetto's on "An Another Thing" haunt the track, but in a soulful way. "Up and Away" sounds as though Dave uses Bob Marley as an influence and doesn't disappoint. No track on this album is bad, and once again, like all of the Dave Matthews Band albums, the best songs, are the ones that will never hit the airways.

After hearing Dave's first solo project, I was very impressed. His style breaks through even more on this album, and the music and lyrics are powerful. Anyone who likes DMB, or just likes to listen to good, fun music, should give Some Devil a try because it is a great album all the way through.
