    Pros: Strong Emotional Content

    Cons: Got bad reviews

    Aside from the special effects, which are pretty cool, I was taken by some of the thematic elements. My son pointed out to me that the character Nathan (little blond boy) doesn't talk and this makes him similar to Sgt Todd, who doesn't talk v...ery much--makes for a touching aspect of the violent story. Another interesting element is Sgt Todd's becoming human. In a sense, he is a machine, trained only for war. But, when he sees the love of Nathan's family and the joy the community shares on the hostile world, Sgt Todd is changed into a caring person. I thought the acting was very believable, (Except for the loser Commander of the new soldiers) which captured the suspension of disbelief. So, this movie is in my top twenty. Read more Less

    If you demand everything pretty much in your face and cut-and-dried explanations and lots of dialogue, this movie will not please you. If however, you can appreciate a beautifully understated performance by Kurt Russell, and have the patience to... find the multiple levels this movie works on, you will love this movie as I did!
