This 1994 live recording was the debut release from the County Tyrone eight-piece Celtic rock outfit More Power to Your Elbow. Produced by Mudd Wallace, this band resembles another of his projects, Goats Don't Shave. With a combination of traditional Irish songs, Gerry Cunningham originals, selected covers of the Beatles' "Get Back" ("Jo-Jo"), Free's "All Right Now," and Ewan MacColl's "Dirty Old Town," and arrangements borrowed from Thin Lizzy and Horslips, More Power to Your Elbow connects with both the traditional and rock-oriented crowds. Reinforcing this band's twofold purpose, More Power to Your Elbow boasts two fiddlers and two electric guitarists as well as substantial contributions from banjo, acoustic guitar, and tin whistle.
