What a magnificent album Alanis has created! "So-Called Chaos" is arguably her best work next to "Jagged Little Pill" and "Under Rug Swept". Once again, Alanis really delivered. "Eight Easy Steps" is at once frightening and liberating. "Out Is Through" is elegantly simple. "Excuses", "Not All Me", and "This Grudge" offer insight that is the essence of Alanis. "Doth I Protest Too Much" is an exceptional song that really represents the evolution of Alanis from the girl we knew singing teen pop in the late 80s to Jagged Little Pill in the early 90s to the "well-versed leader" of the musical pack in the new millenium. "Knees of My Bees" is clever and humorous. Alanis is a true artist in every sense of the word. She is unafraid to look within and to push herself to grow by creating truth in her art. With strength and honesty, she transforms pain and ugliness into triumph and beauty. She is brave enough to stand before the world to be a mirror so we can see our individual truths through her music. Thank you, Alanis! With the upcoming release of her "Jagged Little Pill Acoustic" CD, we are reminded of the musical revolution that Alanis and those affiliated with her musical projects helped bring out in the last decades.
