    Pros: she's at her best...the lyrics are so amazing

    Cons: radio isn't picking her up and playing shi*t like avril instead

    So I've only been able to hear 30 second previews for all of the songs, but from what I can tell SCC represents Alanis returning to form. I must confess that I'm one of her crazier fans...so I enjoyed SFIJ and URS despite their lack of popul...ar success. However, if you're a fan of Jagged Little Pill, then you should enjoy this CD.The production is edgier. The lyrics are less emotive. The CD is just amazing.Go out and buy it on May 18th!     Pros: Alanis morissette is one of the songwriters that i like most. Every song in the record, every word in the record, can reflect what i am in the current situation. (Maybe my situation is similar to Alanis.....) I like "Jagged Littel Pill", "SFIJ" and "under rug swept"..they are all my favourite. This album, is the album that i think alanis morissette has progress in music, lyric and mind. She becomes more mature , has mature thinking towards the same thing, and the music elements, she has tried some new one...for example" Knees of my bees"...very eastern feel.........Amazing. Also, "this Grudge" is the song that truely reflects her maturity......and the title track , "So called chaos".......really tells us that she is back.........so..this album is the album that you must not miss

    Cons: I think 10 songs is not enough.....she can write more..........Hope she has some b-sides for this album and release in the coming accoustic album at the end of the year..

    One sentence can conclude this album.......
    "Alanis morissette is back, she rocks, rocks your heart and she is the rock queen in the world."

    Everyone must have this album at home.......makes your heart feels good.......

    Pros: I cant believe this record at all! SO GOOD!!!!

    Cons: Not a bad word to say! "ITS ALL GOOD!!" : )

    First off all I will give you one word: the word is: STUNNING. Alice Morrissette returns after almost six years with what will surely be the breakthrough album (CD) of her career. NEVER have she written such heartfelt and pleasing songs which reveal ...hidden details of what it must be like to be such an amazing artist and an interesting person also. "My Archive" is got to be her most personal song yet, with it's simple chorus lines of "Me/Me/It is only me/And this is all I know/This is all that I can be/Me/Me" She is STUNNING when she sings, too. Her voice (Canadian) is so special, and so uplifting too. It's like she gives you a direct window to her soul with each line of singing, whether she is breathing or almost crying or just plain singing. She is a gift to music, and to the world also. So based on that information, YOU MUST BUY THIS CD!! Read more Less

    Pros: she is awesome! way to go alanis! this hollywood boy loves you! great public radio show i loved the 8 easy steps acoustic!!! almost made me cry :)

    Cons: her acoustic songs which she said were about 14 of them, she should release them for her fans. she is a musical icon and i give her the ultimate flattery by doing her in drag! no one is better at doing a stream of consciousness than alanis.

    she is the best!!!!!! more sucess!! more records! your fans love you and thank you for writing the way you do,you have helped me through alot.

    Alanis Trained Her Whole Life For This...It Shows!

    Cons: Lyrics do not always flow

    What a magnificent album Alanis has created! "So-Called Chaos" is arguably her best work next to "Jagged Little Pill" and "Under Rug Swept". Once again, Alanis really delivered. "Eight Easy Steps" is at once fr...ightening and liberating. "Out Is Through" is elegantly simple. "Excuses", "Not All Me", and "This Grudge" offer insight that is the essence of Alanis. "Doth I Protest Too Much" is an exceptional song that really represents the evolution of Alanis from the girl we knew singing teen pop in the late 80s to Jagged Little Pill in the early 90s to the "well-versed leader" of the musical pack in the new millenium. "Knees of My Bees" is clever and humorous. Alanis is a true artist in every sense of the word. She is unafraid to look within and to push herself to grow by creating truth in her art. With strength and honesty, she transforms pain and ugliness into triumph and beauty. She is brave enough to stand before the world to be a mirror so we can see our individual truths through her music. Thank you, Alanis! With the upcoming release of her "Jagged Little Pill Acoustic" CD, we are reminded of the musical revolution that Alanis and those affiliated with her musical projects helped bring out in the last decades.     As angry as ever, but with new sensibilities...

    Pros: Strong lyrics and catchy guitar.

    Cons: It's not perfect, but I can't really think of anything.

    Alanis is back with a new hairstyle, and strangely smiling on the album cover. But don't be fooled! She has the same angst-ridden songs obviously drawn from her life experiences albeit with a new meloncholy, and sometimes mellow retrospective. It...'s easy to say that this is her best work since "Jagged Little Pill", but there's more to it than that. She shows a clear maturity in songs like "This Grudge" and "Doth I Protest Too Much" that are a far cry from previous songs. Her lyrics are still about love gone wrong, and troubled relationships. But the in-your-face anger found on "Jagged" is missing and I think it's a welcomed changed. The edgy, pounding guitar riffs from her last two studio efforts are here too in songs like "Eight Easy Steps" and the title track, but this time Alanis has seemed to have found a more comfortable mesh with her lyrics. The music is nowhere nearly as cluttered as her second album and the songs have a familiar flow that she had only just gotten back in touch with in "Under Rug Swept". Overall this album is a must for die-hard fans and anyone else who will be thrilled to hear Alanis continue with what she's known for, even if she has clearly grown up. Read more Less

    Pros: Unique, balance of pop and meaning

    Cons: Not so fresh, a little slow

    I call this one "Under Rug Swept: the Sequel." The tone feels unchanged since Alanis's last album, but it feels like this one has more purpose. Each song stands on its own, whereas before they all blended together. This is not a revolut...ionary record, but it doesn't have to be. It's infinitely enjoyable. Read more Less

    Cons: sometimes too complex music-wise and lyrics-wise

    this album is much more complex music-wise and lyrics-wise than previous ones. alanis is experimenting with musical arrangements and this time they too are not unusually complex but refreshing, making my mind devour and be fascinated with the newness... of alternative sound. lyrics is as philosophical as usual, sometimes making my forehead wrinkle in attempts to understand the message. also, i discovered some new ways of vocal expressiveness that i am not sure i heard alanis do before ('the grudge', and 'so-called chaos'). as always i am amazed by honesty, ability to mature intellectually and spiritually, and her gift to so eloquently express herself in her songs, whether it is about one emotion (of love, desire, confusion), or whether it is a whole story of 10 years behind her shoulders. alanis's music if taken seriously makes you want to jump beyond yourself, it makes you want to grow, be limitless, free, and this album better than others shows that freedom is not empty allowness to do what one pleases, it has some substance, it fills a person with a desire of self-discovery and self-creation. what kind of substance? well, it is up to you to see....
