    Best Duran album ever

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 21, 2006

Pros: the "B" side of LP (Rose Arcana, The Promise, El Diablo and Lady Ice)

Cons: Arcadia made just one album!!!

An astonishing album, with great songs played by great musicians (Sting, David Gilmour, Carlos Alomar, Herbie Hancock, Mark Egan among others). Differently from any other Duran album, this is not only a group of songs but a true masterpiece.

    the truth

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 5, 2001

This album is a treasure. Like your childhood pictures, this is one to run back into the burning house for (just like the Dead's hundred Year Hall). Forget all the DD publicity of the 80's and present, this stands alone. Simon played the guitar on Go...odbye is Forever by the way. Read more Less

this has been the reddest album for me for all the years...it is one of the fews whose all songs are masterpieces themselves.....and years pass..you grow up older...things change...but i am still addicted to so red the rose, it feels like taking a g...lance at some very fresh-frozen magic moment from my past... Simon LeBons Dream Found At Last..

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 16, 2000

Arcadia was the best of the two splinter groups and saw the realisation of Simon LeBons dream of the perfect sound for Duran Duran..in another group! Songs like The Promise and Missing haunt you with their sounds while songs like Election Day and Th...e Flame give you the dance beats that you would expect from Duran Duran. The best Thing that I found was that there was so much emotion put into this album and artists like Sting and Grace Jones really added to that atmosphere. Even after all this time, it still sounds fresh and new to me and is one I play all the time. Definately a must have for any serious Duran duran fan, one that was overlooked in all the Hoopla surrounding John and Andy taylors metal tribute called Power Station. Read more Less

great pop record lost in 1985

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 20, 1999

this is an interesting and very often brilliant pop album from three of the original five members of DURAN DURAN. and although it sounds a little like the fab five, it's really more european and actually more interesting!! great sounds, interesting ...lyrics...i would have given it perfect five stars if only it weren't so brief...it's so close, almost perfect but you can't give those away!! but still an amazingly good pop record that sounds great!!
