EMI-Capitol Special Market's Smoove RB: '90s Style may have ten charting hits from the decade, but only of a handful of them, such as Maxi Priest's "Close to You," were well-remembered years after their initial release. Nevertheless, the songs -- including Portrait's "Here We Go Again," Tisha Campbell's "Love Me Down," Wendy Moten's "Come In Out of the Rain," the Whispers' "My Heart Your Heart," Soul II Soul's "Missing You" and Lisa Lisa's "Skip to My Lu" -- add up to a good sampler of the mainstream sound of early-'90s urban RB and adult contemporary pop, especially for casual listeners on a budget.
