A fine accompanist, Slick Jones is most famous for his period as a member of Fats Waller's Rhythm. Jones played with Fletcher Henderson briefly in 1934 and 1936 and then toured and recorded with Waller fairly regularly during 1936-41; he also recorded with Gene Sedric, Don Redman, Lionel Hampton and Una Mae Carlisle during the period.
