This album is great. The best songs are probably 'Lover Please' and 'Prison'.

I have been a huge fan of ME for years. I am proud to say that I own and have memorized everyone of her cds. I must, humbly, say that I believe this is her best yet! The incredible mix of songs and the total emotional feel make this album a must have!!!!!

Melissa is BACK!!!!! I hope to see a grammy out of this one! This is one of her best albums since Yes I Am. I can't wait untill she hits Europe with her Skin Tour!

I like this cd and I am a huge fan of Melissa, and have been for many years but I would like to hear her rock again. This cd is a little too mellow for me.

Especially liked "Lover Please" and "Down To One". Not as upbeat as her others (rightfully so) but still very enjoyable. Can't wait for the concert!!

Okay-
I grew up not far from ME's hometown so maybe I'm a little biased but, frankly, this is one of her best albums! I recently went through a break-up from my boyfriend of 5 years and Melissa captures those feelings and emotions, so well. At times it feels like the CD was written with my situation in mind. Lyrically this album is as good as ANY of her previous albums and musically it brings me back to some of her earlier work.
I love this album. I'm only sorry she isn't coming to Kansas City for her Live and Alone tour.
If you ever get a hance to see Melissa in Kansas City please do so. She does the most amazing version of "I'm the Only One" where she put's in the song "Kansas City" in as a sort of bridge. Phenominal. I would pay BIG bucks just to get a copy of that. (She's done in at least twice while in KC.)
Back to the topic, Skin is amazing. I love it and can't stop listening to it.

I didn't think it was possible but Melissa did it..she once again out done herself I thought "Breakdown" was a killer recording but "Skin" tops the list..Way to go Melissa..This Girl can really rock..Fans will be pleased with this cd..I was actually up bopping around listening to the first song and from that first song to the last song I was very pleased!!

I found myself pushing play over and over again on the album. It is her best since 93's Yes I Am. Skin is personal, honest and at times like window into this woman's soul. She is a true artist. The hightlights of the album are by far The Different and I Want To Be In Love. These two songs are the heart and sould of Skin. Skin does have other strong tracks such as Lover Please & Heal Me. It is worth a listen, if anything to what this person has to say about love and life.

Just listened to the CD and found all the songs to be enjoyable and some quite mysterious. The song "The Different" is INCREDIBLE and I can't wait to see her play it in concert!

What is going on. Don't get me wrong, but I am a long tome fan, I love her. This album did not have the power that Melissa Etheridge has put into her albums in the past.
There are a few good songs that are totally awesome and did have the power she excerts into her music. I do have a new favorite song by Ms. Etheridge, "Lover Please" is the best.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoSkin
I think that Melissa Etheridge's seventh album, Skin, marks a wonderful new era for her. The emotions conveyed in songs like "The Different", "Down To One", and "It's Only Me" are very soulful and powerfully moving. Also, the fact that she's playing almost all the instruments herself shows just how personal this album is and how even in what seems to be her darkest hour, she can come out on top and blow you away.

While this is better than most of her other release's why is it a 5 star CD by every girl that posts? My god it does have some good moments but most of it is so over the top that I found it hard to listen to at times.This is not total crap but if it was why do I get the feeling that it would still be 5 stars down the line on the review board? Please feel free to reply for this is an honest question.

I'm not normally one to write music reviews, but this one has me at the keyboard. Skin is, by far, her best album to date , and the star of my M.E. collection! I recommend that music lovers, whether you're Melissa fans or not, give this album a listen.

It's like you can feel her pain,and then you are there with her when she is healing!! It made me sad, it made me happy,and it made me glad to hear her original heart & soul that she started out with is still there!!!

This album is some of her best work. I love hearing the different styles of the instruments that she used on this album. Also, her songs are so easy to relate to our lives.

Havn't played anything else since I've got this CD! It's the original passion and emotional range of expression that I love about ME! In my opinion, it's the best release since her first two albums. Get it!

I picked this up yesterday, and cant stop playing it. I am a diehard fan--but was a little let-down after breakdown....WOW is all I can say. Lover Please and Wanna Be in Love are my favorites so far.

Last night I bought her new album Skin at a record store and I listened to what as I called it the best since Breakdown. So far, my favorite song off her album is Lover Please. I think this album is good after a breakup with someone you loved and to pick yourself up when things are not going right in your world.
