The quintessential '80s teen flick
Pros: Unique & hilarious characters

This is a terrific movie, probably John Hughes' best (right next to Uncle Buck). Molly Ringwald perfectly captures a 16 year old girl's angst... If you are or have ever been a teenage girl, you can totally relate to what she is feeling. The characters in the movie are totally unique... from Long Duk Dong to "The Geek", you can't help but laugh.
A great movie. Totally stands up to the test of time. Just as funny and relevant as it was 20 years ago (can you believe it's been 20 years since we first met "The Donger"??)

this is my all time favorite movie! it was recomended by a good friend. i was very impressed with the movie! everything was great, i really enjoyed the story line, and the love story between Sam and Jake. it was truly the best movie i have ever seen !! very good job ! i loved everything in the movie, and i don't think i could say anything bad in the movie at all !! thanks, keri

Michael Schoeffling is the ultimate dreram guy and he played his part well as Jake, Molly's love interest. I can relate to Molly's struggle in everyway. I am still waiting for my happy ending. Everyone must own this video.

I think this has to be one of my favorites of all time! Everytime Sixteen Candles is on t.v. I HAVE to watch it. By the way, the man that played Jake Ryan was Michael Schoeffling. Justin Henry was Sam's (Molly Ringwald's)screen brother Mike Baker.

Wouldn't it be just my luck to be after a Jake Ryan and end up with a total dork? Probably! This movie is pure cheese but it's not without a classic falling in love scene over the perfect birthday cake and the nerds going after the cute girl that's trying to not come off as being too goody...

This is a Great Movie!- I can watch it over and over again! The connecton between Molly and Justin was Amazing! (Justin's character-*Jake Ryan*... happens to be what we named our son-- Jacob Ryan!!!) A must see movie!

I was clicking thru the channels trying to find something to watch and I came across this movie. Since I liked Pretty in Pink, and Molly Ringwald was in it, I thought this would be good too. I watched the movie. This movie is great!!! It has all the qualities of a great movie, romance and comedy. It is truthful to what everyone wants in their teenage years. I luved this movie and I know you will too!!!

If you're in the mood for a really funny 80's movie then this one is for you! Basically it's your basic Molly Ringwald movie, so if you liked any of her other movies, you'll like this one. It's just like her other movies but 10 times funnnier. GREAT for a boring Friday night!
