When a young English minister (Hugh Grant) takes an Australian parish, his first assignment is to dissuade a local painter from showing a provocative painting. He and his wife (Tara Fitzgerald) visit the artist's home only to be smitten by three ravishing models posing, ironically, as the mythological sirens who lured men to their doom. On the artist's bohemian estate, the minister and his wife are shown a guilt-free Eden-like world where they find their own sexuality awakening.

  • Overall:

    The great Australian perve.

This movie has to be seen by one who would like to see Elle McPherson, Kate Fisher, and Portia De Rossi flaunting around in the nude. These lovely Australian girls, all of which have at one time or rather made their way to Hollywood are the centrepie...ce of this film, which deals with the life of Norman Lindsay, an Australian painter who was much maligned in his time for the sexual nature of his work. Hugh Grant plays an English prat to perfection as we all know thats who he is in real life. Sam Neil is also a familiar face to most, and his charm is effortless as the free spirited artist, whos innocence is his crime against society where moral taboos and sexual repression is of the greatest importance to uphold. Very entertaining and vibrant, great Australian locations, but not a classic by any means except for the casting of three gorgeous and famous Australian women, worth buying just to see them really.
