singin' with the stars
Pros: Fantastic choreography and songs
Cons: slightly muffled sound quality
I heard about this movie from so many people who had loved it but I had never seen it myself. So when I had the chance to see it, I didn't let anything stand in my way. All through the movie I was captivated by the sheer joy of it all. The glitz and glammer of stage life and productions. Fancy a musical about making musicals. I was hooked. Since that first veiwing I have seen it many more times and yet never tire of it.Gene Kelly is outstanding as the delightful Don Lockwood, Debbie Reynolds is captivating as the sweet Kathy Selden and Donald O'Connor is charming playing the effervescent Cosmo Brown.
All in all i thoroughly enjoyed this film and would recommend this film to anyone who has ever had an imagination.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoSinging in the Rain
This is the best movie of all times. Gene and Debbie have such on amazing on-screen presence together it is like watching real life. The musical talents in the movie should be applauded as well. I will love this movie until the day I die!!

I absolutely LOVE this film. I adore how it portrays Hollywood. It is absolutely fun. The dancing is the best. The love story is absolutely adorable. The music is very lively.

This movie is a classic. The story occurs just as sound is being introduced to movies. It involves an actor(Gene Kelly) who is at the peak of his career in silent films, and finds himself doubting his success in talking movies. It also stars an uprising actress of the stage (Debbie Reynolds) and an arrogant, but famous actress of silent films (Jean Hagen) The story is about love, and contains comedy. The music makes the story come alive. It is a movie that will leave you smiling.

If I could give this movie a higher rating I would! Gene Kelly, Donald O'Conner and Debbie Reynolds are fantastic in this film! If you like musicals, this is definetley a must for you!

Gene Kelly does a wonderful job singing and dancing as does Debbie Reynolds. Debbie Reynolds plays a wholesome girl with a beautiful singing voice whom Gene Kelley gets caught up in.
