Why STS?
Pros: Truly Captures the essence of Human Emotion and Goth/Punk Culture
Cons: Europe Veriosn has Bonus snogs... GRRR!!!
Okay, First of all, this was my first AFI cd. I'll admit to that. but after buying it in june 2004, I have since bought every EP, cd, LP you name it. I love all their work, and the trangression beginnning in Black sails With Jade coming in is finally done. The lyrics flow beautiflly Form Davey's Charismatic voice, Haunting yet full of passion. the Guitar riffs are nothing short of perfect, each tempo change well palced. every song is arranged perfectly. I MUST say this... this is THE ONE CD I can listen too full way through (poems included) withiout skipping anything, for fastforwarding or any of that. it is a brilliant album, and this, My friends is what you shoud judge other albums against, not MTV, but StS.

Pros: Very good instrumentation, good lyrical content from Davey Havok

Track One named Miseara Cantera ushers you in with a soft melodic introduction, however it leads into track 2 the hit song "Leaving Song Part 2" which has amazing vocal work done by the one and only Davey Havok who for the first time is dabbling in conventional rock themes and guitar work. Track 3 "Bleed Black" continues this, however track 4 "Silver and Cold" moves the CD in a new direction, showing the emo experimentations of the group (also shown in tracks 11 "The Leaving Song" and Track 12 "...But home as nowhere". It is also completed on an emo note with "This Time Imperfect" the hidden track on the special edition CD.) Track 5 and 6 "Dancing through Sunday" and "Girl's Gone Grey" bring them back to the pop sensibilities of songs such as "The Days of Phoneix" but Track 7 shatters this. The Great Disappointment is another emo/punk hit, while "Paper Airplanes (Makeshift Wings)" and "This Celluloid Dream" mark the end of their Artistic Impressions of Drowning and their rebirth into a more pop sensibile yet strong to their roots musical taste.

Ok this is a lot different from the old AFI cds. This iis my least favorite afi cd but that doesnt mean its bad. When i listened to it the first couple of times i thought it was complete crap. But if you start listening to it for long periods of time you start going " you know, this actually really good" that is something my brother failed to do. he listened to it 3 times and hates it. he likes old afi. i have to admit that i like old better and the song girls not grey is the worst song by far and it is way overplayed but this is still a great listen. give it a chance and buy it. also buy "Black Sails in the Sunset" and "Answer That and Stay Fashionable"

i am a old afi listener and before sing the sorrow came out my favorite albums were black sails in the sunset and the art of drowning. now sing the sorrow is up there with the rest of the albums.
the only thing annoying to me about this album how much the radio station played girls not grey, but hell the rest of the songs make up for that.
they are absolutely awesome songs with lost of meaning and emotion.

This was my 1st A.F.I. cd. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Great kick ass music from beginning to end.My personal favs:#7 Death of Seasons & #9 Paper Airplanes(makeshift wings).If you want a GREAT cd,get this one.

This is by far the best purchase I have ever made. I got it on mother's day last summer and have been playing it ever since. This CD is the epitome of Afi's revolution since Jade Puget joined the band in the late '90s. The songs are sometimes slow and heart-wrenching, at other times more towards the fast-beat, blood-pumping punk rock that Afi started with. Jade's lyrics sung by Davey's one-of-a-kind voice are worth listening to time and time again with the guitars and drum backing everything up beautifully and making each song a million times more interesting. Afi is now, as it always has been, the culmination of all good rock of the time. This is MUST HAVE.

I figured since AFI has a few songs playing on the radio that this would be a good cd. But to my dismay, the songs that are played on the radio, are the only good songs worth listening to.

A Fire Inside has come along way, but this is their greatest achievement thus far. Sing the Sorrow is a poet's paradise with beautiful flowing lyrics and magnificantly mastered instrument work. This is truly a masterpiece if I've ever heard one. AFI has truly broken the mold of punk rock.

Whatever you do, DO NOT get Sing the Sorrow! Get one of their othe CDs like "Very Proud of Ya" or Art of Drowning". Its there true selves. When they were punk. Sing the Sorrow is very dumbed down emotional goth stuff. The other CDs i mentioned were when they were oldschool, making REAL non-goth music. They were punk...good punk. And also "Very Proud of Ya is very funny at sometimes (track 19)(Track 2). Sing the Sorrow is pre crap. Maybe i would get there next CD if its actually PUNK!!!

its alright i guess but its so.... like kinda like greenday every one loved warning but it was just because it was a whole bunch of eye candy well thats what this is dont get me wrong i love afi but if you ask me their better albums where answer that and stay fashionable and so proud of ya well thats what i think

this album was i think the best that afi has! the songs are great. if you heard girls not grey and leaving song 2 and you liked them, you'll like the rest of the tracks!
