    Don't buy Siemens

    Pros: It has good features

    Cons: It's a piece of crap

    The 8825 was the second gigaset system (2420 & 8825) I've owned and definately the last. The display on both base units went out in about a year and a half leaving it unusable for anything but calls. Without a display you can't add handsets o...r even use caller ID and you can't.... ..hold on, my wife is asking me something. Hey honey, what time is it? Hold on let me check the phone..oh yeah..IT DOESN'T WORK!!Battery life in the handsets is horrible and overall the system just feels cheap. I thought the 8825 had quality improvements over the 2420 but there was no difference.I called customer service thinking they might try to keep a two time customer happy (they did replace two 2420 system handsets out of warranty so back then they knew they had quality problems). The customer service (service?) rep had a great solution.."You'l
    l have to go buy a new base unit, that's all I can suggest". Gee thanks BUT NO THANKS.     Read more Less

    Pros: Looks good - sitting dead on the your desk

    Cons: Does not work !!!!!!!!!

    Hello,Do yourself a big favor, read this and don’t buy this phone! I purchased this phone for a home office environment. This is the summary:The Good: - Phone looks greatThe Bad: - Poor reception and range - Static - Poor battery life - When a call... comes in the phone resets and hangs up on the other line - Unable to answer incoming call if the caller ID memory is full - Terrible customer service (believe it or not when I was the phone with Siemens customer service for the seventh or eightieth time, and I told them I would write a letter to the President of the company telling him what a nightmare it was dealing with his companies product, I was told “go ahead he only speaks German, and he doesn’t care what you have to say anyways” - But …. Did I mention that the phone looks good?If you still insist on buying this phone, my suggestion is that you buy a traditional phone for a back up…. You will need it.Good luck!Mark Read more Less
