Toronto-born Sidney J. Furie is a graduate of the prestigious Canadian Broadcasting Corporation TV-director talent pool. Promoted to producer before the age of 25, Furie worked on such Canadian video series as Hudson's Bay. In 1957, he produced, scripted and directed his first theatrical feature, ">The Young Ones (1961) and ">The Ipcress File (1965).
