shine is the music of miss universe 2003 very good
I love this band because it brings back the composers from the 18 centurys
EXTRMELEY GOOD COMPOSITIONS.GOOD WORK.
i first heard them on miss universe 2003, and i fell in love with their music. im even going to buy two of their cd's, shine and born for my mom as a birthday present, because whe loves their music.
A smooth blend of classical, techno, pop, and latin music, Bond shows that classical music is still cool, and can still make a fabulous impression. From the strokes of their bows to the timing of their meters, Bond truly excels at this very unique and stunning form of music.
Gautier was nothing. Lauren is what is better. But this CD is better than ok it is absolutely riviting. It seems to be each song has it's own meaning and story. If you listen carefully you would better understand this. It's more the 21st Century Bethoven, but with more class. I think if Bethoven was alive today he would have a heart attack hearing this.
Shine has exceeded every expectation I had in looking forward to its release! Bond's first CD set the bar high...but Shine has gone beyond!
As I listened to each track, I kept turning it up! And when I came to "Kashmir" (yes!!! Led Zeppelin's Kashmir!) I was freekin blown away!
But there was another suprise to come!Bond does James Bond's theme! Now we're talking music that a "guy" can sink his teeth in!
Bond...don't stop here! "Guys" around the world have got to love this! I DO!!! Next conquest for the guys...Godfather movie tunes...why let's go all the way and hear Bond's take on the Monday Night Football theme! It would be fantastic!
And, oh yeah, guys you've gotta hear the strong and sexy track, "Space."
These four ladies are so very talented...and by the way, THEY'RE GORGEOUS!!! The CD's photography is, by itself, worth buying! Oh yeah!
Bond you've out done yourselves!
Bond not just another pretty face like the here and gone Spice Girls. These women have real God given talent. This group is surrounded with what amounts to a tremendous amount of production and writing talent. Not to mention their own ability to play and write.
The album opens with Allegretto. A wonderful piece that when you hear it you will fondly remember it (you have heard it before but never knew from where it came).
Then comes the title song Shine. This song just begs you to go out and dance till you can't walk any more. My wife and I almost immediately got up from listening and started dancing like we haven't done in years.
Next, Fuego. This is my favorite. It begins with what sounds like Moroccan then fly's off into a classical piece that brings images of life, love, and conflict into the mind. What a story.
The song Strange Paradise comes in with a gentile soft concordance and works into a gorgeous smooth arrangement that will make you wish that you had not danced so hard during Shine. Thankfully this song is slower and you can continue to move.
Speed starts slow, but hang on. This has the driving bass line and beat of an almost a metal song. In an audio system that can reproduce immense low frequencies this song will have the furniture bouncing.
The song Big Love Adago will move you to the brink of tears as you will feel the openness of the solitude from the original composition.
Kashmir. Can you say Led Zeppelin. I never thought I would hear a descent (let alone this outstanding) performance of this metal classic. If you close your eyes you can almost hear Mr. Plant.
This is followed by Gypsy Rhapsody probably the most technical performance on the album. Haylie and Eos really allow their violinistic (is this a new word) talents to come front and center.
The next gem is Libertongo. This is a perfect place in the CD to continue the little slow down on pace. (I am still catching my breath.) The smooth transfer allows their listener to pay close attention to what is happening in the background. The subtle changes are welcome to the ears.
Sahara. Very Mideast. This takes me back to time spent in Morocco and various locations in India. (God now I need Orange spiced chicken on couscous.)
Ride is exactly that, a RIDE. Don't drive while playing this one. The pace will absolutely put you in the ticket zone. Fabulous instrumental selections with a marvelous back beat that will make you think techno.
Now sit back and get enveloped in Space. I suggest sitting in a darkened room with no other sounds. Turn up the volume and be taken away. This is amazingly hypnotic.
The bonus song, Bond on Bond is exactly what you would expect from these women who should be on the 007 poster.
I realize that I have a lot written here but I am enamored with this album. The songs are a mixture of all standard music formats in a new and dramatic setting. I am calling this Fusion Classical. I have been a classical fan for all my life and now I can share it with all my rock n roll friends. I won't even start on what I think of their first album, Born.
Thanks for reading.

Following up a virtuoso like bond's first album Born is far from given, but Haylie, Eos, Tania, and Gay-Yee do it with ease. They have continued their wonderful blend of classical, dance, pop, an ethnic influences to create another stunning work. Some tracks will sooth and calm while others will boil your blood and start your feet moving. Some will be familiar like thier adaptations of the 007 theme, a Led Zeppelin cover, and Stranger in Paradise. Others are quite original such as Sahara, composed by first violinist Haylie Ecker, and Ride, composed by second violinist Eos Chater. All are memorable and will keep you coming back for more!
There is a difference between great string music and great string music played with energy, joy, excitement, and love for the craft. Bond epitomizes that difference.
AMAZING, FABULOUS, REMARKABLE, MARVELOUS......... Nothing can discribe the Bond New Album..... Shine So if you wan't to know what does it look like. Go shut down your computer, change your clothes, go to the nearest cd and cassette seller, than ask them to give you bond new album SHINE. than listen it. The different of their music make them more popular. So what are you waiting for ..... Just Buy That CD!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
--------------VIVA BOND FOREVER----------------
this album is off the hook!!! it's even BETTER than the first one!! It's got more variety and much more phat beats to it!!it features beautiful songs such as Strange Paradise and Big love Adagio and also hip on the go songs like Allegretto, Fuego, and Speed. Their renditions of Kashmir and the BOnd theme are absoulutely awesome!!and also for those who love ethnic music, this album has awesome influences from India and Egypt for songs such as Shine and Sahara. Go get SHINE!!!!!!!!!!
Can you all believe? i bought bond's album even
not having listened to their new single yet.
i just walked in the store and bought it! I found the album quite entertaining and something new from bond.My fave tracks are" Shine" due to its indian beat influence, "Big Love Adagio" especially the piano part, and really love bond's version of the James's Bond theme. Keep it up girls. Please come back to Singapore again!!! I'll be waiting for your third album!!!
The difference from the first album to this one is that, song-to-song, from beginning of the album to the end, there is more consistency of the driving sound that their first album introduced. I do hope they'll mix in a few more pieces that showcase their classical strengths in the future, but this is a very good album. I've seen some concert shots of Bond, and while some people may decry their "new image" *shrug* I will admit that their first photographs seemed more sunshine than vamp, but their 'new look' doesn't stray from who they are I'm sure (and does not take away from their music!). Bands polish themselves; I hope Bond finds their public image in many ways (their message is, after all, expanding the genre of classical--would be a shame if they didn't believe in this universally). Their style is movie-epic and surges: Go, buy! :)
in this latest installment, Bond again shows their musicianship at its best. For me, two tracks stand out: Kashmir (a Led Zepplin cover), and Bond on Bond (the 007 James Bond theme). These two were arranged very well from the group and have solidified me as a hardcore Bond fan!
Good job from bond! The style of this album is totally different from the previous one. It is more lively and actively.
Also, the word "Shine" has already figured out wht the style of the albunm is. It is easy to read and remember it.
But if Gay-yee and Tania play more, it will be better for them. And I am looking for Tania's own pieces~
"Shine" - an album that shines your life!
I had pre-ordered Bond's Shine Cd and and eagerly awaited it's arrival. I received it the day after it was released in the US and the wait was not in vain. This is an EXCELLANT cd. The songs are lively, vibrant and fresh. If you liked Born then you'll like Shine.
Shine lives up to its name! Shine has a way of calming the soul and uplifting the spirits!
It is truly a wonderful listening experience!!
The anticipation is over! Bond hits high notes with their new CD, 'Shine'. The music is more upbeat than their previous work on 'Born', but, the girls were up to the challenge and mastered it with perfection. A MUST for anyone who admires fine music, no matter what breed of music you're fond of, Bond will no doubt capture your senses. These beautiful women make beautiful music together. When 'Allegretto' starts, relax and prepare to be swept into beautiful wonders. The music starts fast to invite you...and you will stay.
Hai i'm not fans, but i always follow your news everyday. i buy your album. what is your image that you looking for ? in born album, the song is more electric. in shine album it's more sad, and simple. actually i don't care about your technic, how fast and how great you play. coz in the music that is doesn't matter. the matter is where is your SOUL, you lost it!!!. don't forget that !!! you are born to be musician, not a models. yes you are pretty. but you have to return to your music, don't get influence to far with your rising star. by the way where is your own song. i read on the album. there is NO ONE your create. and don't use to much program, human doesn't like constanly like that we are not robot. we have go back to nature. and what is your goal actually ? find your vision, my girls!!! maybe it sound rude, but you have to review all the critics, so you can get more better. if you do that, so i'm not wrong to choose you as the best group classical. thanks, just think my girl !!!
The follow-up album of this amazingly talented group is all that could be hoped for and more! With thirteen awesome tracks, including one by the group's first violinist Haylie Ecker, and one by the second violinist Eos Chater, you can only love the sound of the group! There are many ethnic ifluences in the album, including Indian, African, Spanish and Latin, that all make sure that the listner is transported to a different state of mind with the beginning of each track. Among many masterful re-workings of popular oldies, including Led Zeplin's "Kashmir", Tony Bennett's "Stranger in Paradise", "Big Love Adagio", and the James Bond theme which is cleverly titled "Bond on Bond", there are also a number of dance inspired tracks. "Shine" is a diverse album that lives up to expectations and makes for a truly wonderful album!
ok, so the instruments aren't ANYWHERE TO BE SEEN on the cover, and its more like the girls modeling for Gautier (gotta love him). The music...can we get more computer beats? Then again, if you read the credits and look at who they worked with its very obvious why their beeats are the way they are. I'm not saying the CD is bad...its not bad. Its an ok CD, and over time will grow on you, theyve got a few great tracks (Shine, Fuego, Libertango, Ride, etc...) and other very badly done remakes (Allegretto, Kashmir). It just seems as though the SHINE that was there with the BORN CD isn't there for this one. (kinda sad in a way)
Bond breaks out the scene yet again with the release of their second album "shine". With their eccentric styles these girls have changed the way I look at classical music. Everything from Hindi to Tango Bond mixes these styles to create wonderful music. Simply one of the best instrumental bands out there. Even though their first album "Victory" had more techno beats. Shine captures the music of different cultures. This album is a must have for young and old.
Bond's new album "Shine" is an excellent work of are, second only to their first album. Their first album had faster songs with more techno beats, and this on was more like pop. However, this was just as great! The songs on this album are a mix of latin, club, gypsy, and middle eastern rhythms. The songs "Allegretto" and "Fuego" are very powerful songs that just boil your blood."Shine" and "Gypsy Rhapsody" are also great songs that have a eastern European gypsy beat that move gracefully. "Big Love Adagio" is and excellent mellow tune with great piano parts and intense violin solos. "Sahara" and "Kashmir" have the middle eastern thing going, which gives them a unique twist. "Strange Paradise" is a great adaptation of an old song with a moving beat. All ofthe other songs are magnificent. I definitely recommend this album to anyone who bought their first album or anyone who is in search of "feel good" music with great beats and melodies.
