    Ahhh the skits are back

    By VANESSA  Jul 19, 2004

    Pros: Great bits

    Cons: Ho hum songs

I laughed. Hard. I laughed out loud at work and received stares from my co-workers who had no idea I was listining to something that if played out loud would have gotten my fired. Sandler's newest CD delivers with some of the raunchiest comedy of... his career... and it's damn funny. The first track is one of the best on the CD, but is followed with such jems as "Gay Robot" and "Calling Home" which reaches back to revisit some classic Sandler... I won't give too much away, but check it out... for Sandler fans it will be well worth it. Read more Less

  • All Music Guide

Almost five years after the mediocre Stan and Judy's Kid, Adam Sandler returns with a winning set of sophomoric potty humor. Recycling the structure of every Sandler album before it minus the songsonly What's Your Name Shhh...Don't Tell bounces between songs and sketches but the vulgar has been kicked up a notch. It's a great move considering the Sandler on screen has been venturing into Jimmy Stewart territory. There'll be none of that here as Sandler introduces us to the proud "Mayor of Puytown", a man who can't impress his friends with his puny flatulence named "Timmy Tinyhole", and a "Gay Robot" that just happens to be a master of football statistics ("The Eagles will win in three. Now can I grab your butt?"). "Secret" is the highlight with it's eurodisco ode to men who worry about their bikini lines too much. The bumbling character Pibb is a one trick pony the album could have a little less of but fans have been waiting for Sandler to come back to this absurd and lowbrow, absurd... style of humor for too long. The characters on Shhh...Don't Tell are hardly the sweetheart Mr. Deeds was and the album is all the funnier because of it. - David Jeffries , All Music Guide Read more Less

Biography

Adam Sandler

Born September 9, 1966, in Brooklyn, Adam Sandler was raised in Manchester, New Hampshire. At the age of 17, his brother dared him to take the stage at a Boston comedy club's amateur night and was surprised at how well Adam performed. That planted the seed for his career, though he first attended NYU, receiving a Fine Arts degree in 1989. Not long after graduation, Sand... Read more
