Johnny "Shellhead" and Jen Shag, two halves of Brooklyn indie duo Shellshag, got their individual starts in the '90s San Francisco D.I.Y. scene, while running the infamous Starcleaners Warehouse a historical music coop in the Mission District that was formerly home base to the Residents, the Dandy Warhols, and the Brian Jonestown Massacre.
