Neill has studied with such nationally known jazz musicians as Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton, John Blake and Ted Dunbar. Sathima Bea Benjamin, Sheila Jordan, Bill Evans, and Miles Davis have been cited by Neill as major influences.
