The AQUOS LC-52D82U LCD Television sets a new standard for large-screen flat panel TVs. With Full HD 1080p resolution, dramatically enhanced black level and an elegant new design, it produces a breathtaking picture quality that is second to none. The LC-52D82U utilizes Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT Panel with multi-pixel technology, providing 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 4ms response time and wide viewing angles (176º H x 176º V). In addition, the LC-52D82U includes 120 Hz frame rate conversion for superior fast-motion image processing. The LC-52D82U is an HDTV with built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners and includes 3 HDMI inputs, compatible with 1080p signals, and 2 HD 1080p component video inputs. The LC-52D82U features a sleek piano black cabinet with subtle, recessed bottom-mounted speakers and a unique blue LED light under the Sharp logo.

    Bad/Questionable parts and craftsmanship

    Pros: Easy to use with decent picture/sound quality

    Cons: TV quality is questionable...Screen goes black when turned on

    Do not buy this SHARP TV (or other Sharp TVs) for the following reason: The quality of the parts used and/or craftsmanship of the TV is not good. After a year or so every time I turn on the TV the screen stays black. I have to cut the TV on/off many... times for it to finally return a picture. Sometimes I have to totally unplug it before a picture is returned. If you research this issue on google it seems to happen a lot. I contacted customer service who informed me since my one year warranty is up they can do nothing for me even though it seems to be a widespread manufacturing issue. Read more Less

    I have had this TV for 4 months now. We love it. Great Picture, not one single problem. I was hoping to find a 52" set in my price range (under $1200) but was thinking I would have to drop down to 46". Then I found this unit at $1000 on lin...e. It has been just what I wanted. The only draw back is that the controls are on the top. We mounted this on the wall over an entertainment center and it is difficult to reach the controls. We use the remote almost all the time, but if we misplace it, we are out of luck if we want to turn the set off. very small issue. I would reccomend this set for those looking for the most bang for your buck in this price range. Read more Less
