Pros: Extremely quiet

I researched several makes and models and finally decided on the Sharp FP-N40CX model. It is extremely quiet at all air filtering settings including high fan speeds. I previously owned two Bionaire models and this is far superior in the noise level a...rea. It was very easy to set up and get running and I could actually feel the air quality improve almost immediately. It is a very attractive and well made product that enhances any room in the house. I like the fact that it is relatively light weight and therefore portable if required. The plasmacluster feature is wonderful and although I can't say whether or not it actually kills airborne bacteria, I can say that both my wife and I have commented on how nice it makes the air feel. I run in the auto mode 24/7 and once the unit cleaned up the air the first time it seems to hardly run at all except for the very quiet motor running in the background. You will need to put your ear right up to the unit to hear this as it truly is that quiet. This is the high season for airborne allergy stimulii in our area (spring pollens etc) and we can see a great improvement in our master bedroom since we started using this air purifier. If you are considering a moderately priced air purifier I would highly recommend this to anyone. Read more Less
