I have been working in HVAC for the past 27 years and did my homework on a portable air conditioner. I actually went around to several stores that sold portable units and put my thermometer in each of the brand names on the market and not only was th...e Sharp unit the coldest on the market. It was also the quietest. This will be the third summer I have used my unit and have never been more happy with anything. I am the envey of my apartment complex. I have about 1000 sqft to cool, and it really does the job I need it to do in the 100 degree temps. I run it 24/7 in the hot weather and have never had any trouble with it. The two slide in filters are easy to clean and dry within minutes and you are ready to go. I have never had to drain my system in the time I have had it. As the condensation is blown out the exhaust duct. The only suggestion I would have as with any window shaker or portable unit, after a while the air can get a little stale urine smell which is easily fixed with a ounce or two of pet urine gone spray poored down the exhaust duct while it is (SHUT OFF) this can also be sprayed into into the coil of the window shaker. If you are really interested in investing your money into something that really works well, I would spend a little more for the Sharp unit and know u really are getting your moneys worth. I am planning to buy a couple more of these units, for my family members this summer. I truely hope you are as happy with yours as I have been with mine. adanac. Read more Less
