    I have had my Sharp for 2 weeks and really enjoy it alot.The HDTV channels I have are 1080i and they look great.The only thing I noticed was during the colts game which looked awesome was a little dot crawl on the closups.DVD's look very good on ...this and Im only using a upconvert player.To me its just about as good as a HD DVD.     Don't be fooled, you can do better for the money

    Pros: clear picture

    Cons: ghost images.

    ok just to clarify, i purchased the 46 inch version of this tv back in december 06. i really wanted the samsung, but got a good deal on this one, so i went with it. the main reason being i got a PS3 and needed an HDTV that can hang with the system.... although it does 1080p, this TV produces some of the worst ghost images i've ever seen. i didn't really notice it at first, simply because this HD set looked so much better than the CRT it replaced, but after staring at it most nights, i can really see it now. do yourself a favor, get the sony bravia. i know it's expensive, but if you are gonna spend over $2000 for a TV, might as well get the top dog right?     Sharp Aquos panel problem

    Pros: worked for 2 years

    Cons: service and line down the middle of screen

    My Sharp Aquos LC42D62U encountered an LCD panel problem in only it's 3rd year of use. I purchased the product from PC Richard. I also purchased an extended 3 year warranty from PC Richard. When I encountered the problem, I had already moved outs...ide PC Richard's service area so they refunded my money. Had I purchased a warranty direct from Sharp, maybe they would have covered the problem. I was not given the option of purchasing the warranty direct from Sharp by PC Richard so Sharp is not willing to accept the cost of the PC Richard warranty to correct the problem. They are only offering pro-rated cost to replace the TV. My next TV will not be a Sharp. So I guess the message here is buy the extended warranty direct if you can, and the product and service is likely to be better from Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, etc. Read more Less

    Pros: Awsome image quality! Great Sound!

    As with everything I spend alot of money on I do my homework! I had my mind set on a rear projection just for cost reasons but when I saw this Sharp in Best Buy the picture just blew thew the rear projections away and I never looked back! I use the h...igh definetion box from Comcast with component cables so the high def. is AMAZING! My friends just love it! I live in an apartment so I didn't get the suround sound just because I couldn't hide the wires in the wall & I didn't want them running up the wall so I just use the sound from the TV itself witch is great! The sound options give you a few diferent sounds to choose from witch I really like and sounds great in my apartment! Consumer Reports rate this TV second amoung all LCD High Definitions and I see why this TV ranks above the Sonys! I bought a sleek,black stand for it & since the TV is black it all looks very cool! Also I have a XBOX 360. They have a switch on the back of them for high def, witch I can finally take advantage of! The graphics and color while playing it on this Sharp LCD is mind blowing! My buddy has a new Sony LCD 42" LCD and just sold it for a $300 loss just to get a Sharp 42" like mine, the picture is just that good! I am so happy with my new TV! I did my homework and did my research and it has paid off big time with an awsome TV. Read more Less

    Great buy. I got this TV to use with my PS3 & blu-ray movies and so far the images and sounds have been superb. I highly recommed this TV for anyone who wants to experience HD. Great investment!

    Bad/Questionable parts and craftsmanship

    Pros: Easy to use with decent picture/sound quality

    Cons: TV quality is questionable...Screen goes black when turned on

    The quality of the parts used and/or craftsmanship of the TV is not good. After a year or so every time I turn on the TV the screen stays black. I have to cut the TV on/off many times for it to finally return a picture. Sometimes I have to totally un...plug it before a picture is returned. If you research this issue on google it seems to happen a lot. I contacted customer service who informed me since my one year warranty is up they can do nothing for me even though it seems to be a widespread manufacturing issue. Read more Less

    Pros: Great everything

    Cons: Only 2 HDMI ins :(

    I really like this TV, even though I'm an AVID Sony person, until now. However, this television gives me everything I need, plus some. But, it's only got 2 HDMI ins and that stinks. I'm thinking Cable Box, DVD and video gam...es...but oh well. It's gonna play out proper. Read more Less

    Cons: sound could be better but not an issue

    all i can say is it was the best 2000 dollars i've spent and i dont have any issues with it. so dont be afraid to spent the money on one of these tv's, well worth it

    I purchased this tv to be used as my screen for my computer and to use for my flight simulator. I've also got my xbox 360 hooked up to it now. I also tried hooking up my HD sat. receiver to it and the HD programming looks AWESOME on it. Gives my ...60" Sony a run for it's money!! Let me just say, using it as a computer monitor it is awesome as it runs at 1920 x 1080 so you get some real estate for a desktop! It's a great product for the money. I would recommend to anybody.
