    Pros: good price

Cons: $300 for new bulb after 6 months!!!

Nice projector... liked it until the bulb burned out tonight. Bought it 6 months ago and now it'll cost ANOTHER $300 for a new bulb. I will never buy sharp again!

***DO NOT BUY***DO NOT BUY***DO NOT BY***

By Earl  Dec 31, 2006 | 1 out of 1 found this Sharp Notevision XR-10X review helpful

    Pros: picture ok

Cons: @ 550 hrs. bulb burnt out just after 30 day warrenty on the bulb expired sharp wanted to charge me $481.00 to fix their faulty product.

This is a warning for people who like to keep their money. Do not buy this product the reviews are correct the bulb does burn out and Sharp will not replace it and neither will the extended warranty that you might purchase with the projector. This bu...lb is listed as a consumable product and it wont say that on the package it comes in. It will say 3yr warranty and 2 yr express on everything (but the bulb). You will see it if you were like me and bought the extended warranty its on the back in fine print. It says in so many words yea youre screwed but thanks for the money. Shame on you Sharp your products are no longer allowed in my house. I have contacted the BBB and yea Im not the first one for this problem. You can always call 1800BESHARP and ask for the manager Chris Dillon and he will be a little assho** and tell you its not sharps problem that their product sucks. You could try to leave a message with his boss but she left town for a week how convenient (nice pimp job). So in closing you could try to buy a new lamp online and install it your self and then try to sell the unit to some poor sap on ebay. You would be out $260 for the bulb $40 for the listing and $300 you will lose because its used and nobodys going to pay you shi* for it. The thing is SHARP could step up and say yea we messed up we will replace the bulb at a good discount or offer us a coupon for another product. Who wants to bet thats not going to happen because the guy in charge will be out of the office for an undetermined amount of time but please leave a voicemail. Read more Less

Probably Best Budget Projector Money Can Buy

By PJ  Jun 7, 2006 | 1 out of 1 found this Sharp Notevision XR-10X review helpful

Pros: Definition - Price - HDMI compatibility

Cons: luminosity looks a little weak for a 2000 lumens

Astonishing Budget Projector. I did a lot of research before zeroing on that one. I hooked it up to a HDMI dvd player (via components!!!) and the picture definition is out of this world. The luminosity seems a little weak for a projector that's 2...000 lumens strong.... (but then again, I often watch my movies in the dark - and with the light bulb on "movie - econo mode" to extend the light life. BUY IT!!!! Read more Less

    Bulb life is terrible

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 17, 2009

Pros: Good picture for the first 400hrs

    Cons: Bulbs do not last

This will be the 3rd time that I need to replace the bulb in this projector. The last one died at approx. 400 hours. These were reasonably priced projectors, but replacing the bulbs this often wipes that out and then some. I would not recommend this ...projector and will not by Sharp again. Read more Less

    Buyer Beware

    By TaylorB  Jan 2, 2009

Pros: Amazing picture..Xbox 360 HD looks AMAZING!

Cons: my second bulb just died ..this time only at 600 hours

This projector is amazing. With True 720p...the xbox 360 looks like a million bucks. However, use it only when it is needed. My first bulb blew up at 800 hours but I didn't ventilate it well...my second bulb, I built a stand for it so it had exce...llent air flow and this one died at 600 hours...Time to dish out another 250 bucks Read more Less

You get what you pay for!

    By CapsFan  Jan 27, 2007

Pros: Great price and nice picture

Cons: Lamp life is MUCH less than indicated

Too good to be true - you bet! While the picture is nice and HD does look great, you WILL make up for the nice price by lamp replacement. I limit time we used the projector for special events, etc., even with this, the bulb burned out WAY before it w...as supposed to. Buyer beware - you will be easily lured by the price and nice picture, but you'd better buy and additional bulb as an accessory before you leave the store since you'll probably be replacing it with your regular 60w light bulb replacements. It's a shame and I'm disappointed in Sharp for misleading specs. Everyone's reviews are right on the money (unfortunately)! Read more Less

    DO NOT BUY!!!!

    By tyler  Jan 7, 2007

Pros: Great image and beautiful picture

Cons: SUPPORT AND BULB BOTH BLOW!!!

Extremely mad about the purchase, bought in march and didn't use until august when i moved into my apt. So even though i didn't use the warrantied amount of hours when i tried to get it fixed in november, it was out of the 90 day warranty the... for the bulb before i even used it. Only used eco mode so i could extend the life of the bulb to almost 3000 hours as listed, but didn't even last 700!! WTF!?! Sharp makes quality products and backs them.. yeah right! DO NOT PURCHASE SHARP ANYTHING!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS RUDE AND VERY VERY UNHELPFUL.. just to add insult to injury.. they wanted 125 dollars in service fees to unscrew 3 screws and pop out the bulb assembly... real F*CKING COOL SHARP! Sharp XR-10X

    By Ching  Sep 30, 2006

    Pros: Picture is clear

Cons: Lamp llfe time is shorter than expected

The XR-10X lamp died between 3 and 6 months, for much less than 2000 hours use time. It may cost $300 to $500 for repair and lamp replacement.
