    Incredible Picture Quality

By Wyatt  Jun 13, 2007 | 7 out of 12 found this Sharp LC-52D92U review helpful

Pros: Picture, Contrast Ratio, Size, Looks, Image Quality

Cons: New Technologies out/coming out such as LED backlighting and 120hz will make this obsolete relatively soon.

This is the best image you can get from any TV currently on the market. The dynamic contrast ratio is 10,000:1 (reg. 2,000:1) so the blacks are really black and dark scenes don't get washed out or muddied up. The menu is really easy to use and ...is a breeze to set up. Playing Blu-ray movies from the PS3, the image is unparalleled, though a good 1080i signal is a close rival. It also displays SD 480i signal incredibly well, better than anything else you will find. DVD's depend on what you are playing them on, through the ps3 the look fantastic. My only complaint are the speakers, they are flat sounding, which is to be expected of any LCD TV i suppose. But that is what surround sound is for. Also, new technologies on the horizon could potentially knock this TV out of the #1 spot. Competition is from Samsung (new sets have 15,000 contrast ratio, and look great), Toshiba (image processing chip is CRAZY good), and Sony (overpriced, but decent image) Highly Recommended.
