Mary polishes her sound
Pros: Somewhat polished, but still gritty, radio r&b
Cons: Pales a bit in comparison to "My Life"
On her third album, Mary J. Blige steers away from much of the gritty hip hop soul of her first two CDs in favor of slightly polished r&b. In the case of "Share My World," that's not necessarily a bad thing. Here, she hooks up with a handful of the most popular producers in the business (R.Kelly, Jam and Lewis, Rodney Jerkins, and Babyface) and the results make up a pretty strong release. The Queen of Hip Hop Soul teams up with Queen Bee Lil' Kim on the infectious "I Can Love You," with production from Rodney Jerkins. Jam and Lewis, who are known for their work with Janet, give the sample-heavy but effective numbers "Love Is All We Need," and the excellent "Everything," which samples "You Are Everything" by the Stylistics. R. Kelly's one-groove-fits-all approach to production compliments Blige nicely in the duet "It's On," and we're also treated to the ballad "Missing You," which is unmistakably Babyface. And speaking of Babyface, he's also represented on the disc's closer, "Not Gon' Cry," which already appeared on the soundtrack to "Waiting to Exhale." "Share My World" proves that you can polish your sound without sounding like you're desperate for crossover appeal. Whether she does gritty hip hop or radio-friendly r&b, she's still the Queen of Hip Hop Soul.

This is definately one of Mary J. Blige's best albums!! There is a song on this album for everyone, along with fanastic lyrics and of course Mary J. Blige's incredible voice. She explores so many issues and situations in life on this album. It's certainly worth getting this album especially if your a fan!

I haven't ever been to one of Mary's concerts but she definitley is my favorite artist. All of her albums are explosive and they each pertain to an obstacle i have overcome in my life-time. I feel that her music lifts me every time I am down. This particular album is just so deep that any amount of words or compliments could not do this album, all her albums, or even she as an artist and beautiful talented woman, any justice at all. SHE IS THE BOMB!!!

This album is for everyone, not just one specific type of person. You can always find a song that matches a situation that someone may be going through. Although it's one of the older albums it's still very good and I love it.

Mary J. Blige is a very talented songstress. Her strong and beautiful voice makes you enjoy the song more. I'm feelin' her style and her efforts. Mary has become a legend and I think she is a great artist.

Mary has been my favorite singer for a long time. She helped me to become a better person and she helped me relize alot. I never met mary in person or seen her in concert or anything so most people say that i'm not her biggest fan but deep in my heart i feel like shes a sister to me in a weird way sometimes it seems like shes there for me because when i'm down i just go to my room and listen to mary and just to listen to her music just brighten me up. I know your like get to the point so i guess what i'm trying to say is mary is a very good singer with a very good heart most celebrity's seem to be just in it for the money but mary is much more. one love mary, out.

i am a big fan of mary j. blige. i think this was a good album. lot of a smooth groove like track 2,6,11 but the other tracks doesn't produce the soulful and hip-hop appeal she had in her last two albums. anyway they sounds good, and shows mary's incredible vocal. nice album!

THERE IS SO MUCH THAT I COULD SAY ABOUT MARY. HER STYLE IS UNIQUE, HER ATTITUDE NONCHALANT. SHE IS JUST A QUEEN IN MY EYES. SHE HAS AN INTELLIGENT WAY OF SPEAKING HER MIND THROUGH HER MUSIC. AND WITH ALL THAT SHE HAS BEEN THROUGH... SHE DESERVES THE WORLD.

this song is so good i even wrote the lyrics of this song to my boyfriend and he thought that i made him a poem. what i really like about this song is that its about our relationship and how i really feel towards him. love you babe.
