One of the best CD's of all time.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 7, 2001

If you're not a fan of hardcore music, you will be, after listening to this masterpiece. "A Shape of Punk to Come" is one of those albums thats takes everything you know about music, twists it inside out, and slams it far back in your skull. Combining old school hardcore punk riffs, pounding sporadic drumbeats, and glittered with industrial and techno bursts of fury, this disc is about revolution. Everythign about these songs will inspire you, whether to create, expand your knowledge of the content, or to....what am I doing, writing a real review? Listen to this cd! Buy this CD! Refused has to be one of the most underrated bands ever. "A Shape of Punk to Come" certainly has to be the most underatted album ever.

    Awesome awesome awesome

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 11, 2001

This is one the best albums I have heard, ever. The loud, fast guitars and screeching voices are music to my ears, both literally and figuratively. This is what thrash punk/metal bands should aspire to be. It's to the point, it's great music, and a MUST-BUY

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 29, 2001

Probably the most original and progressive punk album i've ever heard. Refused really push the boundaries of punk music - this is more than just an album, it's a masterpiece. Like a lot of people when i first heard it, i wasn't that impressed, but after a few more listens, i couldn't stop listening to it - amazing!

One Of The Greatest Records of All Time

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 28, 2001

I had to re-review this album, as my old one does it no justice. This one of the single greatest pieces of music ever assembled. Refused was one of the greatest bands of all time, surpassed only by thier lead singer's new project, the greatest live band of all time, The (International) Noise Conspiracy. The Shape Of Punk To Come is a great record from every angle, not a single filler track on the whole thing, it's pure genius. Every band should be this talented.

    REFUSED

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 22, 2001

Was blown away by the "New Noise" video played on MTV2. Now this is music. Loud, Angry, Experimental, and very Hardcore. Somewhat different than their other releases, but Refused were definately growing creatively. Too bad they broke up after this cd. Still, crank it up and stand back!

    The best album ever??!?!?!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 30, 2001

No, I don't think so. But it is an amazing one, with rapid tempo changes, techno flourishes, noise fests, fiercy felt anarchistic rantings, and furiously loud performances. Too bad they broke up. :(

    The Messiah Has Arrived

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 8, 2001

Finally, the festering cesspool that hardcore has become has found a new leader. "Shape of Punk to Come" shows that hardcore can retain its dignity, be creative and inclusive without resorting to being a thrash/metal cliche'. Refused show that with a little innovation, hardcore can be both explosive and subtle. The musicianship is first-rate, allowing each song to develop its own extreme dynamics. From the whispers to the screams, from the distorted "Sonic Youth" style guitars to the jazziest elements and techno fills, this record succeeds on every level. Follow your leader, hardcore.

    beyond punk

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 11, 2001

I thought the title was arrogant, but after listening, i think its modest. Pissed, political, educated, truely pushes the limits of not just punk, but music. The range of musical styles fused into the punk was genious. There are more musical explosions on this album than any other ive heard. The skill of the musicains and the way the album was mixed makes for an ultimate hard punk experience years ahead of its time. This is the shape of punk to come 10 years from now. Dont drive with Refused if your prone to road rage!

    the next great band?

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 2, 2000

a combination of a singer that really can, a drummer that puts all to shame and some of the best noise made by stringed instruments, the shape of punk to come is not only the best album of 1998, but also 1999 and (so far) 2000. with the recent success of 'the new noise' single, they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

    Quality hardcore/punk noise

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 5, 1999

I hated this at first but after a few listens it totally shines. I love the heavy vocals, fuckin mental. Bit of a experimental fugazi-influence but it works well and the whole thing rocks like a bitch
