    Great acting, great directing, great scenery, and great everthing, is the way to describe this movie. Alan Ladd was great in the movie, everthing was perfect.     Mud, blood, guns, gals, and one bad tree stump. It doesn't get much better than when the saloon hound walks out --- in two different scenes. As close to perfection as Hollywood will ever get.

    This movie was a ground-breaker in many ways. The story itself, with the hint of intrigue between Shane and a farmer's wife, the casting, the trick used to send Elijah Cook flying through the air and, of course, the fight scene in the general st...ore all make this movie unique and wonderful to watch. Ladd was never given full credit for his acting abilities. An unusual story, but one which will hold your attention. Shane! Come back, Shane! Read more Less
