    I saw 7 Shakespeare plays in 2 weeks in London performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company. I saw "Shakespeare In Love" the night I flew home to the States. It was decent, at best. To this day, I cannot understand how it received the Oscar for best p...icture. Dame Judi deserves kudos, but I think the movie fell rather flat. With the exception of Dench, the acting was extremely mellodramatic. I was squirming in my seat at times. It's funny how horribly acted movies win Oscars (See "Titanic" - '97 Best Picture).     I couldn't think of a movie that touched me more deeply than Shakespeare in Love. I watched it again and again and I am always touched. Joseph Fiennes is so fine! His experience in the theatre has definitely helped him in this movie. I just love ...this movie! Read more Less
