Septeto Anacaona & Ciro Rimac
Little was documented about Septeto Anacaona, the seven-piece, all-female band that was active in South America in the late '30s. The instrumentation of the band was mostly strings and woodwinds geared toward the more "delicate" gender. The only recorded legacy they left behind was a handful of songs recorded between 1936 and 1937 with the charismatic Ciro Rimac, who was at the time an international star and the protégée of Cab Calloway.
