Pros: This is timeless music. It can be listened to by all at anytime.

Cons: Scarcity. Simply impossible to find. Should be re-released.

Twenty years ago I was an 18 year old working in Singapore when I first heard this album. I had always been attracted to the unique styles of Bob marley, Jimmy Cliff, Black Uhuru and Third World (TW). 96 Degrees was the first album I'd ever bough...t and I immediately developed a long lasting affinity with TW's style of reggae. A friend of mine bought the album from some shop in Singapore and absolutely blasted it through the flats that we lived in. When I heard it, I loved it. It was a definite reggae bass beat. All the beats and rythmns so typical to reggae music were definitely evident but there was something else. It had a modern touch with electronic effects and clear lyrics. It was music that anyone could listen to because while it was reggae, you didn't have to be Rastafarian to listen to it and enjoy it. Each song has a different message and a melody to match the mood or intensity of the message. I bought this album several times both on CD and cassette tape. But they seem to have dissappeared over the years. I've often found myself humming the music and melodies to mself during quiet times, wishing that it was easy to buy in New Zealand. But it's practically impossible to find. I found one website that you could download from but I couldn't in good conscience. So, I'll probably have to order it off amazon or something. Anyway, it is a fantastic album. Anyone who has heard it, I know, would definitely agree. It is timeless, refereshing and one of my favourite albums of all time. If you can find it buy it, I doubt you'll regret it. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase it from? I have to have it back in my collecton. Read more Less
