Senator Must Die |
Note: Ed Koch, outspoken and outrageous former Mayor of New York City, continues to be a highly visible national media star. Subject of a recent People Magazine profile, and presiding judge on TV's popular "The New People's Court," Hizzoner has brought his sharp wit and inimitable personality to his three previous Kensington mystery novels. In his latest adventure, Mayor Edward I. Koch is flying off to Switzerland, investigating Swiss banks and their Nazi connections. On an autumn night in the Big Apple, Ed Koch, his bodyguards, and U.S. Senator Anson Hubbard are about to travel from a press conference on Wall Street to dinner in Chinatown when the party is brutally ambushed. By the time the shooting stops, a bodyguard is dead and Ed Koch is determined to unravel a mystery that strikes too close to home. Senator Hubbard has been campaigning for a full accounting of gold looted by the Nazis during the Holocaust and deposited into Swiss banks. The mayor's press conference was to announce his support of the Senator, and the mayor's staff thinks Hizzoner was the intended victim of the assassination attempt. Koch isn't so sure, and when Hubbard is seriously wounded by a sniper just before leaving for Switzerland, Koch's instinct's prove accurate. Someone is out to stop the Senator's inquiry, and now it's up to Koch to discover the truth. |
