Cons: You need to be in the mood for something deep

This was one of the first d&b albums I ever bought back in 1994. I had heard TPower's single 'Mutant Jazz' before and liked the very smooth, yet metallic vibe. This album goes one step further with it's opening track setting the scene... for what's to come - a long introduction that promises a deep musical journey, almost like sitting in a shuttle waiting for a take off into space. I often use this album for quite reflection, which is ironic considering that this is a drum and bass album!! The album has beats, and they get crazy sometimes but that still does detract from the underlying feeling of deep mysticism, awe and wonder. This album is different to the LTJ Bukem and Good Looking Records sound - I was/am a big fan of that style of drum'n'bass - but TPower tapped into something very deep here, a kind of emotion that stays with you. I think the title of this album says it all. The 'Police State' EP was also very much in the same vane as this album. This album, for me, will go down as one of the landmark albums of my collection.
