The Mayfield Four - Live
I saw these guys live at the HOB in Myrtle Beach, SC. The music was good and the musicians were competant but unfortunately nothing that will stand the test of time. The current music scene is flooded with this style of music at the moment (melodic grunge ala Fuel, Bush, Lifehouse, 3 doors down, etc...) I know this is an album review so I refrained from rating the album. I do not see any remote parallels w/Led Zeppelin or Marvin Gaye. I will say they did a nice live version of the Who's "Teenage Wasteland" but seeing as how the bar was an all ages show, my wife and I, as well as a handful of others, were probably the only ones to recognize the tune.

This album is fantastic. It would be a tragedy if you don't get it. These guys are so talented that it is unfair to the rest of the musicians out there who even try. The voice, the guitars, the complete songs, they're what a good rock band requires and these guys have it all. Stop reading this and go get it now. Why are you still reading this and not buying the album? GO!
