Spanish altpunk duo Sr. Trepador is comprised of Oscar Linares and Pablo Pereira. Hailing from Sevilla, both were active in the local music scene, each participating in different groups when they met in 2004. Oscar was connected by a mutual friend to an established band who had just lost their drummer. It was there that he met Pablo. The band played primarily Extremo Duro and Fito Fitipaldis covers under the band name the Mamarrachos. Pablo and Oscar found themselves longing for something more serious, eventually striking out on their own to form a guitar and voice duet. Paying close attention to crafting songs with meaningful content, differentiating themselves from other youthgroups on the scene, the pair settled on the name Sr. Trepador. Oscar and Pablo wrote songs about love, passion and broken dreams until they had generated a sizable catalog of original material. They received considerable attention for their commitment to mature content at such a young age. A scant two years after meeting Sr. Trepador released their debut record for DRO's Treintay3 productions. Aforismost Invertebrados, produced by Spanish rock veteran Alejo Stivel, was released before either artist could buy a beer stateside, Oscar at 16 and Pablo at 20 years of age. Within a year of it's release the record had placed in the Top 50 on national charts. The duo spent the following year touring throughout Spain and Mexico.
