    the start of something big!

    to say this CD shocked me when i first heard it would be an understatement! but it grew on me. I could listen to 'you suffer' over & over again and it still wouldn't bore me!

    The very first grindcore album,but also the most brutal.Riffs are simple,drumming is simple,screaming is simple.But it's a terrific album all the same.Very primitive,so excellent!!!

    * VERY * old grindcore!!

    Now this is an old release! It's amazing to me that NAPALM DEATH were playing such brutal grind back in the mid 1980s... these are the guys who inspired countless bands, people! The lyrics are of course very political and pessimistic, the guitar wor...k is uninspired and simplistic, the drumming is fast and the vocals are relatively deep roars! It's grindcore!!!What's interesting to me is how the first half of the album is very punkish while the second half is totally brutal grind; one would think, after hearing one song from the first half and one from the second, that NAPALM DEATH's 'Scum' was done by two bands with the same vocalist. I warn you though, this is not for everybody. If you're looking for intricate and inspired music, look elsewhere! At the time this album was around NAPALM DEATH couldn't care less!!!!! ^_^ Read more Less
