Synopsis: Scarface Deluxe Gift Set (2003)
Synopis: This double feature contains two versions of SCARFACE: the 1932 Howard Hawks classic and Brian De Palma's controversial 1983 remake. While Hawks' version is obviously based on the story of Al Capone, De Palma's relocates the story to Miami, circa 1980, where Al Pacino's Tony Montana tries to climb to the top of that city's considerable cocaine business. I believe this is one of the best movies ever created on this planet. Other then some of the recent great movies(pulp fiction, reservoir dogs, usual suspects ect.) this has to be one of the best gangster movies ever created. Its one of my top 5 favorites. The great acting by Al Pacino (not even cuban) its insane. SEE IT!!! ...

Pros: Pacino, drugs, teaching, experience
Cons: A semi-incest scene that will make you feel uncomfortable
If there was no Pacino this movie wouldn't be good. Its that simple. You know the story, immigrant Tony Montana comes to Miami, FL from Cuba to start a new life and succeed and become the best at what he does, deal drugs. And he does become the best. Flying through the ranks to the top cocain kingpin, this movie is awesome. The music is to die for. I'm gonna order the soundtrack online and it cost $20, and it only had 11 songs. Thats how much the songs kick ass. Steven Bauer is great as Manuel Ray, Tonys' longtime friend and partner that joins him on the criminal rise. Michelle Pfeiffer as a coke addicted Elvira Hancock, is probably one of her best roles here(she ain't got many). The special features are great and intresting but I wish they were longer and more up to date but they still deserve a 10. Only problem is the feature Scarface: orgins of a Hip-Hop Classic. I have the up most respect for rap/hip, its maybe my favorite genre but Tony and rappers have nothing in common. Tony was offered a job and took it and got money then took over. Rappers think he had a tough road to the top he didn't. Tony had moments where he needed and had big balls but it wasn't a hard road as rapper make it out to be. Anyways thats my rant on the #6 greatest film ever made(1. The Godfather 2. Schindlers List 3.Saving Private Ryan 4. Goodfellas 5. Pulp Ficiton 6. Scarface 7. Taxi Driver 8.Casino 9.Resevoir Dogs 10. American History X), if you havent seen Scarface then your missiing out on quite possibly Pacinos best performance, only other film that rivals Scarface is The Godfather. I'm out, PEACE ...
