    Don't Buy an Ipod

By Spooky  Mar 12, 2006 | 10 out of 13 found this SanDisk Sansa m250 review helpful

Pros: Not Ipod, doesn't use a hardrive, cheaper, small.

Cons: Hard to protect, can't make playlists,

I have to say I love this MP3 player. My main reason is that it's not Ipod. I like to buy lesser known brands. What does Ipod give you? Ipod gives you a hardrive that crashes easily, especially if you use it while running often. Ipod also gives ...you an over-priced product, and a product that is literally just huge. Who wants to lug around a remote control sized MP3 player? All of the accessories for Ipod, of course, are expensive as well. Sandisk gives you Flash memory, which means, if you battery dies, you keep all your songs. With a hardrive like on an Ipod, the hardrive is spinning, like on a PC. Anytime you are working out, running, etc, you are constantly bouncing the hardrive around while it spins. This results in easy crashing and low lifespan. Flash memory doesn't rely on this type of memory storage. Also, the battery life is fantastic, if you buy the right kind of battery. Don't get yourself a cheap AAA. Get a litium photo battery. I think my regular battery lasted 2 or 3 weeks. A lithium battery will last a few months or more, depending on how much you use it, obviously. I usually use mine for 2 hours at a time or more, and it lasts for at least 3 months. The protective case doesn't cover the screen, so you have to be pretty careful with that. Also, I can't seem to make my own playlist. What you have to do is make a bunch of different songs with the same album name on Windows Media Player (or whatever), and then put that album onto your MP3 player. I have one very annoying thing to share, but I'm not sure if this is consistent with all MP3 players, or just this one. Let's say, for example, No Use for a Name, is the name of a band on your player. Now, for some reason the tags on your PC will identify this as No Use For A Name, or No Use for a Name. This means you'll get the same band with two different names on your player because of the capital letters on certain words. Kind of stupid, but you have to make sure the spelling on the same band from multiple cd's is the same. That's it. Don't buy an Ipod. Read more Less

    Small and holds 50+ CD's

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 30, 2005 | 6 out of 7 found this SanDisk Sansa m250 review helpful

Pros: Size, Price, Functionality, Ease of Use

    Cons: Earphones Suck

I am a firm believer in buying the most amount of memory for the least money. Not only does it do that, it has full functionality. The only quirk I found is that is doesn't play an album in the same order it was in the CD. It plays in alphabetica...l order. However the files are drag and drop from MS explorer. Read more Less
