    Great for the price

Pros: Cost, Ease of Use, & LCD

Cons: Needs battery, few accessories & few features

I bought the m240 (1GB) at Best Buy, on sale for $79 (reg. $129), plus I had an extra 10% off. I mainly bought it for its capacity and cost. I didn't like the iPod Shuffle, but considered similar Sony and Samsung products. The main difference was... that they were rechargeable and cost between $130 and $150. For the price, the m240 couldn't have been better. It's very easy to use and has some of the basic features (play by artist, random, repeat, etc.). With the LCD, the play choices are very easy to pick from. The FM tuner sometimes gets only fair reception, but that's not really why I bought it. If it weren't on sale, plus comparing the Sony and Samsung models, I probably would have spent the extra money for an iPod nano 2GB ($199), but am still very happy with my choice. Read more Less

    Pros: lightweight, small, easy-to-operate

Cons: complicated playlists, no battery recharge function

This was my first MP3 player, chosen for the capacity (1GB), design, and the fact that it isn't an iPod. I'm racist against iPods, mostly because I don't like Apple products. My m240 sees use, at work and at the gym, daily. I haven't ...had any problems with buttons wearing out or screen becoming useless. The battery life is all that can really be expected from a AAA battery, usually 10-12hrs per battery. For me, that means I usually change batteries every other day or third day. Your results may be better, as I use a small set of speakers at work, powered by the unit's battery. Battery life when only headphones are used can be considerably longer. I'm very pleased with this unit, and I might consider upgrading to a unit with a larger capacity. If you get this unit for $100 from Circuit City, you've made a good buy. Read more Less

Awesome for so little money + records

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 9, 2006 | 7 out of 7 found this SanDisk Sansa m240 review helpful

Pros: easy to use, enough space for needs, cheap, records live

Cons: can't think of anything really at this price maybe shape

It is awesome! It does everything you think it will and then you realize it plays for ever like 15hrs straight on 1 aaa battery. Getting a pack of energizer will last you like a month. Then you find out you can record life music on it...i.e. if you p...lay the guitar or whatever. It's not as good as a studio, but it is way better than a computer, which is really surprising, cause you can also listen to yourself instantly. Read more Less

overall a wonderful addition to your audio collection. Supreme portablity, sound quality, and other features make this a perfect purchase, and it's pretty affordable, to boot.

Pros: Great Sound/Great Price/ Great Capacity

Cons: Great Battery Life with energizers

I loved it I have two mp3 players and I find myself using this one more than my apple. I really dont care too much about apple products they are overated and confuse the hell out of the average user but people buy them anyway. I have great storage ac...tually more that 270 songs which is more than enough, If you listen to more than 250 songs on a portable player dude you need to get a home stereo, and I DJ so I'm always listening to music so trust thats more than enough, A lot of other players are just giving you way more than you should use for a higher price. It is not worth the money

    Pros: Sound quality is great

Cons: Player only works for a span of 2-3 weeks

My daughter received the sandisk M240 1.0gb for Christmas. It work fine up until two weeks ago. She turned it on and it started initilizing then it went straight to the Sansa Logo. At that point it is frozen. We tried turning it off and on again, sam...e thing. We took the battery out and replaced the battery. same problem. We took it back to the store and exchanged it. Two weeks later, the same problem has occured. I called technical support this time and after spending 30 minutes on the phone. I was told to take it back to the store for the second time. It is very frustrating. Read more Less

    Great for the price-$51

Pros: Inexpensive, Easy to use, Great sound, Well designed

    Cons: None

Couldn't be happier. It does eveything I expected and more. I don't think it's fair to expect a $50 player to be equal to a $200 one, as some people do. And if a person doesn't know how to use it, they shouldn't be giving it a bad... review. Read more Less

Pros: small. affordable. easy to use. fm radio.

    Cons: cheap carrying case

I bought this thing for $100 at Office Depot, plus I had a $20 off coupon, plus I had a $50 rebate and a $10 rebate. So all in all, I got the player for $20! I'm thrilled with it. I love that it holds almost 250 songs. Its super easy to use - ...very user-friendly. Sound is great. Headphones were pretty good. FM Radio is a huge bonus. And it runs on a single AAA battery and uses a standard USB cable (none of this proprietary crap like so many other players - HUGE plus!). The case was cheap, but heck - go buy one for 5 bucks on Ebay. I'm very satisfied. Read more Less

    Just got what I expected!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 2, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this SanDisk Sansa m240 review helpful

    Pros: volume, sound quality, design

Cons: sometimes doesn't understand files with Russian tags

Bought it in Metro Cash & Carry, (Poltava, Ukraine for appr 60 USD). Excellent player. The FM tuner has 20 preset stations which is great! However, nothing can be ideal, as well as the MP3 player: with low baterry screen is not highlighted, everytime... I add more files, they appear to be sorted in a random way. However attention! : to sort your files by name, just start the FM radio for a moment, and then return to PlayMusic. This is not a con, its just a funny:) thing about this player. I highly recommend to get this player. Or the same with more memory (m250, m260, etc.) Read more Less

One of the best MP3 players out there

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 10, 2006 | 1 out of 1 found this SanDisk Sansa m240 review helpful

Pros: Small, great value, great support, awesome overall quality

Cons: I wish it had a rechargeable battery

I got one of these for Christmas and it is the best gift I've gotten aside from my PS2. It was inexpensive, came with a Rolling Stone subscription, and had a Rhapsody gift card. Great music player.
