The Sansa View Is The One To Get!
, November 3, 2007Reviewer: cam22isback - See all cam22isback's reviews3 of 3 Yahoo! Users found this SanDisk Sansa View 16GB review helpfulPros: Value, Expandability, Overall Quality
Cons: Size, FingerPrint Magnet, Rigid GUI
With the Sansa View, SanDisk has finally bridged the gap between lower capacity DAP units and hard drive based players.
I was never a huge fan of the E200 Series players until RockBox came in and rescued it, but I find myself loving the Sansa View even as it is.
Build Quality - Very solid player with no discernible 'weak spots', though the front surface material is a constant source of fingerprints, and potential scratches.
Features - As a dedicated media player, it has few peers with, and has every audio/video playback function one could ask for in this class of device.
Sound Quality - Sound quality is very good, with a nice array of adjustments including an adjustable EQ.
Video Quality - Is also very good, and codec support is rather extensive as well.
Screen Quality - decent size-to-resolution, though the coating on the screen does hinder screen clarity at some angles.
Value - Exceptional in every conceivable way, and it's also (somewhat) future-proof with the inclusion of a microSDHC expansion slot.
Conclusion: The Very Best (sub 300 dollar) Flash Player Currently on the market... PERIOD! ...

Pros: Great video quality. long battery life. great sound
Cons: doesn't properly read ID3 tags...especially track #1.
I bought this handy little thing the week it came out at BestBuy.
On a user level, i was happy with everything. Sound quality. Battery life. etc.
But i ran into one MAJOR problem.
The player could not properly read my ID3 tags. For those not in the know, ID3 tags are the pieces of mp3 information that label the Song Title, Artist, Track Number, etc.
Many of the albums played in the wrong order.
For nearly EVERY album, track #1 was displayed as the LAST track on the album.
It should be noted that all of the same albums played through in the correct order on Apple and Archos products that I own. So the problem clearly wasn't with my tags.
I contacted customer support who responded quickly. They told me to retag my MP3's using Window Media Player, instead of the the Right-Click/Properties basic option that I had always used.
This is all well and good...but i have 12,000 mp3's on my harddrive! Do they really expect for me to retag 12,000 mp3s?
Because of this one flaw, i chose to return mine.
But everything else worked perfectly. ...
