Pros: Great features, nice package, good UI

Cons: No replaceable memory, XM satellite audio quality

I picked this up at the local electronics store after learning it had a rebate of $50 so my actual cost was only $5 - I couldn't loose. I'm very impressed with the features. What I have been searching for is a device I can cradle and load up... a bunch of songs and then take with me. The critical feature is the ability to skip unwanted songs (you can't even do that with your typical XM radio!) You can also lock songs you like so they don't get overwritten the next time you dock. After recording an XM channel, I can un-dock and take the player with me. I was also surprised at the quality of the ear buds (beats the crappy ones that come with IPODS hands down!) THere is a USB cable to let you upload MP3s. The space for MP3 is only half of the total. I have the 25 hr (512MB) version so I can only upload 256 MB. At 128Kb, this means I can upload about 64 songs or a little more than an hour of music. I don't expect I'll be using the MP3 much but it's a really nice feature to have. My only complaint is not really with the unit but with XM satellite. It streams at only 64Kb which is about half of what your typical MP3 is. Audio this compressed is not CD quality. However, unless you have a high end listening environment you probably won't notice the difference. The convenience of load and go makes up for the lack of audio quality. Read more Less
