Cingular Sync is pretty dang cool

Pros: A2AP, 2mp camera, lots of internal memory

Cons: a lil bulky and a lil bit of a delay, no flash

The A707 was worth every penny, it has a nice slim design but is a little on the long side almost like the A900. other than that i really enjoyed it.it has a good 2mp camera but it has not flash. it has lots of internal memory, can hold like 250 text... messages so you dont have to keep deleting them. i bought a 1gig for it and you dont even realy need one that big if not one at all. the battery life is pretty good too , nice clear big screen and a awesome mp3 player with touch screen controls on the outside LCD. the wireless internet is amazing, the pages load really fast on a 1 to 10 scale i would give it a 9 Read more Less

Pros: Can set MP3s as ringtones, very nice large screen (great resolution), good sound, 3G (which of course doesn't work in my town), slim, has pretty much every feature a cell phone can carry(at least in the US)

Cons: VERY slow to respond, MAJOR problems reading memory card and assigning downloaded MP3s as ringtones, speakerphone doesn't work while closed, outside buttons too sensitive while playing music, external LCD screen is crappy, very few ringers included, VERY difficult to find a headset to fit jack (2.5mm and 3.5mm won't work), the location of various applications (i.e. calendar, ringers, etc.) are very poorly situated compared to LG phones, camera is very poor for being a 2 mega pixel, can't turn camera shutter-sound off, and the battery life isn't very good.

I thought this phone was going to be really great, what with all the options it had and while it DOES have many great functions, it's the USE of these functions, the settings, the speed, and the layout of the applications that need some major wor...k and re-adjusting. Maybe it's just me, but I had a great Samsing phone (the A920) and NEVER had a probelm with the layout and set-up of the applications and ease of use. THIS phone however, is proving to be a major pain. Just be sure you PHYSICALLY handle the different phones before you buy them! You will get a TOTALLY different feel and be MUCH happier with your selection if you take your time and play around wth them prior to purchasing. Read more Less

    Pros: nice screen, good battery

Phone is nice, but not for textmessengers

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 28, 2007 | 4 out of 5 found this Samsung SGH-A707 Sync Black review helpful

    Pros: memory size, big screen...

Cons: slow texting, LCD front cover shuts off quick

Overall, this phone is legitamite, but as a young adult, it doesnt completely meet my needs. I often text message, and with this phone, not only do you have to open the phone, view the msg, but then the use of symbols or other exrta texts are in a d...ifferent area you have to go to, and if your a fast typer, it somewhat lags behind, and to send the msg, you have to go to the options feature first, then send... also, i completely charged this phone and it was good to go yesterday morning, and as i got home, i had completely ran outa batteries, and the only thing i had done was send about 30-40 text messages.... Also i didnt like the front screen. After you would close the phone, the lighting for the front cover would shut off, and it would require you to hold the side button for nearly 3 seconds before it lit back up...i wasnt satisfied however, get this phone only if you really have the patience for texting , dont need to check the time much, and your fine with charging your phone every...as for me, im going to return it asap Read more Less

Pros: Size, screen quality, camera quality, speaker phone, earpeace volume, media player

Cons: Menu lag, tactile feedback on key pad, locked content, poor battery life

I love the size and feel of the phone, it feels very well constructed for an all plastic phone. The inside screen has great quality however the outside screen is horrible and looks to be only a step above monochrome. The call quality is great and I h...ardly ever drop calls. however the battery life is horrendous and it's hard to get more then 2 days out of the phone, without using bluetooth. I love being able to use Mp3's for ringtones however you cant use them if they are larger .5 megabytes. The only other gripe is that the phone does not use mini usb for charging and file transfer, however this seems to be par for most of the cell phone mfg's now days except Motorola and the razr. Pros: lots of memory

Cons: Not very user friendly, No serviece in areas where I used to get service with my other phone, calls cut in and out.

I bought this phone when I switched from sprint to cingulair. Worst mistake of my life. Don't know if It's cingulair or the phone but this phone seems to have some sort of noise cancellation on it that only succeeds in cancelling out the pers...on you are trying to talk to. It doesn't matter how good the signal is I haven't had a call yet that I can hear the entire conversation. The menue is not user friendly and under the messaging icon, you only get text messaging uses, not voice mail. Unless you are planning on taking the user manuel with you everywhere you go, the features on this phone can be hard to figure out. I have been with cingulair now for a month and a half and I am ready to pay the $150.00 cancellation fee to go and get a company and phone that wont cut out on my conversations and I can actually get service in the large town I live in. Pros: main screen, camera & mp3 player

    Cons: dropped calls, non-intuitiveness

the main problem is the dropped calls. is that the fault of the phone? I have AT&T, and i basically don't expect to get through a 20 or 30-minute call w/o at least one interruption due do a dropped call. maybe i'm just not used to phones thi...s sophisticated, but it's not very intuitive. like a previous reviewer, i'm also discovering previously unknown functions months into ownership. lots of them are kind of buried in submenus, and it's not always apparent how (or whether) they can be made more accessible. lots of little problems--makes me reluctant to trust this phone with my whole life, as it's supposedly designed. maybe this is just what happens when they start turning phones into tiny PCs the size of a credit card & give them away for next to nothing. i would be upset if i paid $$$ for this phone, but i didn't, so... By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 1, 2008

Pros: Huge screen, easy to use

Cons: battery only lasts about 3 days

I bought a blackberry pearl and decided it was too complicated to use. So, I traded it for this Samsung Sync. I'm really happy I made that decision. It's a great phone!

Pros: you can call on it

    Cons: displays break to easy

This the second one I've owned. Its not because I like this model or prefer this phone. I had too pay $50 for second one because display broke on first one. How I have no clue. the second one I had,I was just sitting at table having coffee with m...y father Had just made a call to wife and everything was alright then I closed it and the next thing I know is the front display is broke again. My Father was a witness and said he'd never have one to cheap. To tell you the truth I don't want mine anymore either. Told AT&T about it and they said it would cost me $170 to get out of my contract. I would have no phone no service and out $170. If this isn't extortion I don't know what is. Paying someone for nothing is bogus . Way to flimsy for my taste. I'd go for Motorola better reception also. I hope Cingular and Samsung see this reveiw they suck.So so does AT&T. Bunch of ripoffs. I think they sell seconds. Read more Less
