    Samsung is The King of LCD Panels

    Pros: Great image quality! Incredible 15000:1 Contrast Ratio

    Cons: Good Sound. But I have a Home Theather system

    I was at a local Best Buy and I saw this Samsung LCD TV right next to a 40 Sharp 1080P and also on the other side a 46 Sony Bravia 1080P and as soon as I saw the image quality on these LCDs I new that I had to buy the Samsung. Neither Sony or Sharp l...ooked as clear and had a crisp image good as the Samsung. I had done my homework and check other stores, I was at a local Fry's Electronics and they were testing both, the Sony and Samsung 1080Ps and the contrast ratio on the Sony was so low, it look just as good as the new Samsung 720Ps. if you buy a 1080p tv that has a contrast ratio lower than 10,000 you are not really buying a 1080p tv. I bought the Samsung at Best Buy and I am very happy with it. I test it my lcd with my xbox 360 and play Gears of War (and it looked gorgeous) which is only a 1080i game and also test it Ghost Recon 2 and it looked amazing. I played a little bit and I never saw the contrast ratio lagging at any moment. the images were crisp and clear. I had a great experience. I also test it the HD-DVD I have and watch 300 the movie play clear and smooth. and at no point saw my tv getting any kind of hiccups or lagging. I also bought a Phillips HDTV antenna from walmart. went to the setup screen to program the channels and bang! right of the bat I was watching about 36 channels and about 12 channels in High Definition. I would really recommend this Samsung lcd to anyone who cares about having the best picture possible. the only flaw is the sound, but I would imagine that anyone who buys this lcd would add a home teather system to it. (I did) if you are not sure about what 40" Lcd to buy, I would advice you to take your time and look at what other lcds brands have to offer. take your time and read a lot. but I'll tell you, you will not be a bit dissapointed if you buy this tv.     Problem Turning On

    Pros: Good Pix

    Cons: Problems with Start up

    When turning the TV on I usually get a screen of vertical color bars and nothing else happens. After turning off and back on (sometimes I have to do this multiple times) it finally connects after what seems like too long a time to warm up. Other ...wise, this is a good product. Do I need a technician to fix this problem or is it something I should be doing differently. Machine is 17 months in service. Jim Kirkendall Read more Less
