    I just received this TV today and I'm more than impressed. I had been shopping around for over a month reading reviews and comparing prices and options and all that, when I came across the new 2007 model from Samsung. After seeing the price and t...he spec's I figured I couldn't go wrong so I bought it online and saved about 1000 dollars. I had already had the HDTV cable box and the up conversion DVD player w/ the HDMI cables waiting when my TV arrived. Hooked everything up, it was very easy to set up, turned it on and was blown away, it just has an awsome picture the best I've seen and I've seen alot over the last month or so. And all for under 2000 dollars you can't beat that. Read more Less

    Pros: 1080p, lots of inputs, price

    Cons: remote, no optical in

    This TV is a steal for the price. Many of the TV's in the same price range/quality that have similar features are priced higher. Features wise its pretty standard with a couple bonuses. PIP is great but I do wish there was an option to change the... input for the PIP. For some reason you can not view certain input combinations. My other minor complaint is there are no optical inputs, but I guess if your going HDMI why would you need it? I own other Samsung products and the remotes need some work in general. For this TV it had very small square buttons on the bottom half of the remote which is kind of awkward. Again these are very minor complaints. What I like about this TV I can plug lots of devices into it, from PS3 to video editing euipment. Picture quality wise it is excellent especially when you keep this in mind, your picture is only as good as the source. Most consumers jump into the HD revolution with out realizing that lots of LCD's are 720p. Don't get me wrong 720p is great and difference between 1080p is fairly small but if 1080p will be new standard why spend another $1000.00-2000.00 in 2-3 years to replace your 720p TV?     Turning On/Off sounds really loud.
    Maybe there is away to turn down the volumn.

    This LCD faied (doesnt work anymore, will not turn on). Samsungs exectutive Customer Relations Department told me with much run around that I am screwed. They will do nothing to help out when their products fail within days of the manufacturer warran...ty expiring. This LCDTV is a real piece of... and samsungs customer relations is the worst in the biz...Buy a SONY! Read more Less

    Pros: Great looking cabinet

    Cons: Terrible issues with picture within 1000 hours of use

    I have a 42" Samsung Slimline that started showing purple haze clouds all over the screen at just under 1000 hours of use. This plasma is supposed to be good for 10,000 hours!! After doing the research I realized I should have done my homework. ...There are many Samsung "owner" blogs chronicling the many many problems with ALL Samsung models. Never again. Spend the extra cash and get the Sony. Read more Less

    Pros: Nice picture?

    Cons: slow response when turning channel

    The power supply board started going about a week after warranty ran out. I didn't know it was the tv. I thought it was the cable box, battery, etc. It finally would never turn on. Just clicked constantly unless I unplugged it. Have gotten the ru...n around from "ECD" at samsung. Apparently this is a big problem but they don't know about it. I'll direct them to the forums on line so maybe it'll jog their memory of complaints. DON'T BUY SAMSUNG Read more Less

    Don't Waste Your Money!

    Pros: Picture is OK

    Cons: Sound was always bad, now it won't turn on

    I bought this TV about 1 1/2 years ago. For the last month or so it hasn't been turning on very quickly. I thought it was just the battery in the remote (which is VERY touchy on where you point it). Now, it won't turn on at all (this seems to... be a common problem). The sound from the very beginning was not very good, but I was not too concerned since I was going to use a home theater system for sound anyway. I expected the TV to last longer than a year and a half. All in all, I will never buy a Samsung EVER again. Read more Less
