    Mezmerizing picture!

By Brandy  Apr 26, 2007 | 14 out of 14 found this Samsung HPT4254 review helpful

Pros: great picture and sound; tons of options!

Cons: wish it had a USB port

The color and contrast of this TV are unparallelled. Shows up great even in a very brightly-lit room. Love the picture-in-picture and the 3 HDMI ports! Also, I like that I can customize the sound with the built-in equalizer. This TV can optimize stan...dard channels giving you best-case-scenario picture quality. The anti-burnin feature works great, especially if you're an ESPN fan! The sound is about as good as can be expected from this latest round of plasmas, and the built-in surround sounds helps a lot. The sound is exceptional when put through an outside audio component. I also love that I can adjust the picture to dynamic, standard, and movie mode. Awesome. It took me four years of research and waiting for the right TV - I clearly chose well. Great TV for the money!!! Read more Less

I finally found the right set for me!

By gspforme  Oct 17, 2007 | 10 out of 10 found this Samsung HPT4254 review helpful

Pros: Magnificent Picture, 3 HDMI inputs, USB

Cons: Built in speakers kinda suck

This is the fifth HD TV I have bought. I have had a 52 inch Toshiba DLP set. The Toshiba turned out to be to big for the room. I returned the Toshiba for a 42 inch Sony LCD rear projection TV. the sony had a great picture, and the built in speakers w...ere actually really good(the Sony has a built in sub). The problem with the Sony was dated looks, bulky set, and of course the $300 lamp that blew one month after the warranty expired :-(. Fortunatley for me, a co worker buys my old TV's. I sold the Sony to my co worker(he also previously bought my 36 inch WEGA CRT) I then did some research about LCD vs. Plasma. At the time LCD's had little chance of burn in, and were less $$$. I ended up with a Philips 37 inch LCD. This was a great set, but was Just a little too small. Also the contrast ratio was only 1200:1. I kept this set for about a year. Then on a trip to Best Buy, I found this Samsung! I could not believe the picture quality. The new Samsungs come with anti burn technology. It actually works as well. I asked my co worker if he wanted a new set. He said sure and the rest is history. All in all this is the best TV I have owned, and I have had several. I highly recomend this TV, and contrary to the other review, it does indeed have a USB port. The 720p picture on this set rivals some of the more expensive 1080p sets. The only thing that is not so good on this set is the built in speakers, but most who get this set will have a seperate surround system.I have a sony 5.1 reciever, and Cambridge sound works speaker system. With the great sound and the unbelievalble picture it's truley a cinematic experience. I have the TV hooked to a Time warner HD DVR via HDMI. I have a Toshiba up convert DVD player hooked via HDMI as well. Do yourself a favor and give this set a shot. Hope this review was helpful and trust me, you wont be dissapointed. Read more Less
