    Pros: Very intuitive

    Cons: sound quality

    Great viewing angle. No glare.Self compensating brightness to room light. Looks great on the wall. The HD channels, especially ESPN and Discovery make it all worth it. This TV is a great value. I use my own 5.1 sound system so its internal sound isn&...#39;t an issue. Read more Less

    Nice Plasma even with local DTV Antenna

    I bought this plasma tv at best buy, just about when they were closing for the night, got a good deal with it. Bought a Samsung up-convert dvd player too with 1080i and plays 10 different formats. the monster HDMI cable is very expensive, a cable f...or $120, geee!!! Anyway, so far, the screen is nice, i had a LCD tv and i like the plasma more, more vivid and at the same time if you set it in movie mode, the hues are great, smooth and easy to the eyes. The HP-S5053 has its speakers hidden, and the finish is a deep piano black, i like it alot. got a nice channel manager too but the sounds are just basic - just OK, so i connected it to an optical audio cable to the Extigy 5.1 digital EAX HD, so far, I'm happy with it. What I dont like or wished they had it for this TV is a digital zoom for the tv itself, the samsung dvd has a digital zoom - fit to screen , etc, and it's nice but when you watch regular tv, you're stock with whatever format the station got, especially with digital tv broadcasts.     Pros: Great picture,great value

    Cons: Sound

    I bought this tv at best buy and love it! We have been very pleased with the quality of the picture and the features. I do have one problem. We have the tv hooked up to our Bose Lifestyle surround sound system and I noticed when we watch an HD cha...nnel the voices dont match with the speaking person's mouth movements. Is this a problem anyone else has encountered? Other than that the Samsung is a fabulous plasma tv. Read more Less

    Did I get a lemon?

    Pros: The price and the overall qulality...when it works!!!

    Cons: Flicker issues

    I bought it at BestBuy for $1,799 in April. I got the whole package - HD Channels, Monster Cables, surge protector w/ a static filter, and a Sony soundsystem. I even bought the 4-year warranty. After a month, it started flickering. A few days will pa...ss and it will start to flicker again. I heard a clicking noise inside the rear section of the tv. About a month and a half ago, it gave up on me. I can't even turn the tv on. I called BestBuy because I bought the 4-year warranty (luckily I did) and they visited twice but no luck. They ordered some part and it's still not working. I'm waiting for their next move. I don't know if that's a common problem or perhaps I got a lemon. BEWARE!!! Don't get me wrong. It's a great tv for under $1,800, but it's just that darn flicker issue. Read more Less

    Great Looking Plasma on the Wall

    I bought this TV from Sears and am very happy with it! I mounted it over my fireplace and it makes the room look great with the black sleek design. The picture quality is great I just wish there were more HD channels to view on it.

    Samsung 42" Plasma HD

    Cons: Picture freezes

    Purchased from Amazon last September. In November picture began to stutter and then freeze after the set was on for a couple of hours. Turning set off and back on would eliminate problem for about 1 hour or sometimes for days. Samsung tech cam out... and replaced motherboard. Problem began again in January. Samsung tech came out again and replaced motherboard. Its March and the picture freeze problem has begun again. The tech is a nice personable fellow but I'm tired of watching him replace motherboards in this beast. He has no idea whats wrong. Its a nice TV when it works correctly but I wouldn't buy another Samsung TV. Read more Less

    Pros: great color and sound sound

    Cons: you cant get picture in picture without hdtv

    I got mine the first week samsung made them available about a year or little longer. It is by far the best overall tv with excellant easy to understand connections. I would recommend this to anyone
