    perhaps the worst Ive owned

By Kris  Sep 3, 2008 | 25 out of 29 found this Samsung Glyde SCH-u940 review helpful

    Pros: small, texting key pad

Cons: poor touch screen, breaks easy

I have had this phone replaced 2 times by Verizon. Now the second replacement is on the fritz again. Owning this phone is like having your very own posessed child. It call people when your not touching it. you want to use an application and it hopps ...to the menue..then to dial people in your addressbook..(this is fine unless its that someone your trying to start a relationship with ..and the repeated calls where your not even there freaks that person out and they think your a psycho..yeah thanks Glide. The touckscreen locks up all the time..Im going to go to Verizon today..I dont want a replacement again..i want a new model..or Ill be paying the 2oo dollar dissconnect fee and saying goodbye..this phone is the worst ever..do NOT get it, unless you want your social life destroyed by a psycho cell that ramdomly calls people by its self (Youll feel like the alcoholic partner always making excuses for it) Read more Less

    Pros: Overall Great Phone

    Cons: Too Small

This phone is amazing. It has everything you want in a phone. It has a music player, camera, video, internet, navigator, QWERTY Keyboard which is perfect for texting, speaker phone, and voice commands. Also, what I think is amazing is that theres a w...allpaper that called a "living cube" which is a rubics cube and you can play it. WOOOOOOOOW!!! Read more Less

    Totally Love The Glyde

By VikkiG  Aug 13, 2008 | 6 out of 6 found this Samsung Glyde SCH-u940 review helpful

Pros: Loud speaker, touch control, great camera.

Cons: Can not use Sim Card

I just got this phone within the last 24 hours and I fell in love. It takes a little to get use to but if you are techie then it is no problem. I love the touch panel. It is very sensitive and you can control it in the tools. A memory card is needed ...for the MP3 storage capacity. The music setup CD & USB cord was included which saved me compared to my last phone. The clarity of calls through Verizon are sharp. I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to the Iphone. Read more Less

    Overall, a really nice phone

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 16, 2008 | 5 out of 5 found this Samsung Glyde SCH-u940 review helpful

    Pros: QWERTY keypad

Cons: Touch screen hard to use

This phone has a lot of great features for a reasonable price. Some of them can be a little annoying (like the anti-lock feature- you have to "unlock" the phone by clicking an icon on the screen before you can end your phone calls). Somethi...ng I found to be particularly irritating was that the "ringtones" they provide (there are around 5 total) are complete and utter crap (very quiet, and lacking in originality). I don't know about the other carriers, but Verizon will not let you transfer ringtones from phone to phone, so I had to buy new ones. Another iffy feature is the touch screen. Sure, it's a nice thing to have, but the screen itself isn't big enough for any ease of use. Depending on what you use the phone for, the "buttons" can get really small, and understandably, hard to press. You also have to touch the screen a certain way for it to register. Overall, a nice idea, but it could use some work. The feature that sold me on this phone was definitely the full QWERTY keypad. It's very easy to use, and makes texting a lot faster. They also include a lot of punctuation symbols, which is helpful. Would I recommend this phone? YES Read more Less

    The Glyde

By Jackie  Sep 2, 2008 | 7 out of 10 found this Samsung Glyde SCH-u940 review helpful

Pros: I love the slide of the keyboard and the mp3 player that i have turned it into.

    Cons: touch screen

i have had the phone for a few months now and at free i was really pissed off. it would not take my calls or texts and i called verizon about it and they did a few things and i had to get another one. after i got my new phone and now i get all my cal...ls and texts. the overall phone works really great. the touch screen does suck at times and i just turn my phone off and turn it back on and everything works like it should. i have gotten an 8 gb memory card for my phone to make it into a mp3 player to have with me. i really like that part of my phone and i love the way i can text now and i really overall love this phone. so glad i got it. Pros: small and easy to navigate through

Cons: bad camera youch sensitiviy had a tendency to mess up

i got the glide for my first phone and i can say that i enjoy using it. But the phone was a tad bit thick and that the touch sensitivity would go bad every now and then. The touch quality was no where near the iphone's which i enjoyed using more.... the thickness was not much of a problem to me but my friends did not like too much. overall i thick that the phone is not a bad one but could be improved. Not what it's cracked up to be

By Vanessa  Aug 25, 2008 | 6 out of 9 found this Samsung Glyde SCH-u940 review helpful

    Pros: Full keyboard,

Cons: crappy touch screen, poor speakerphone, tons of screens to go through to get to where you want to be

I have had this phone for almost 3 months, so its not new to me. I thought I could grow to like it, but I'm not!! The touch screen is awful. Either you press a "button" and the phone does not react at all or it activates the wrong "...;button." For instance, I attempt to push the "8" when dialing and the "5" actually appears on the screen (this is not a once or twice occurance either, it occurs often). Or you get a phone call and you hit the answer "button" multiple times but it does not activate so you miss the call. Also, the speakerphone sucks. It is so quite on the loudest setting you have to hold it near your ear to hear it (I have no hearing problems). What good is that? When you receive a picture message, the phone has no capability to be able to increase the size of the picture you received. I have also been scrolling through my contacts looking for a phone number and ended up dialing a contact I did not want, then when it starts dialing, because 90% of the time the touch screen doesn't work, I can not disconnect from the call and have to wait for the other party to hang up to end the phone conversation. Last, but not least you have to go through multiple screens to do anything. To dial the last number you called, first you have to unlock the phone, than click on "Menu", than "Recent Calls", than "Dialed", than you can select the last number you called. It can get very annoying especially when your use to the older phone when you just hit the "send" button twice. I DO NOT recommend this phone!! Read more Less

    Pros: Keyboard

    Cons: Battery Life, Touch Screen

Well, i have had this cellphone for about a month and so far it's had its glitches or defects. First off, sometimes the cellphone actually freezes, and the touch screen does not function properly. Other times the cell phone's touch screen is ...too sensitive. Overall i like the phone, but it does cause problems and is not that reliable. Read more Less

I have never had a phone this bad

By Melissa  Sep 19, 2008 | 3 out of 4 found this Samsung Glyde SCH-u940 review helpful

    Pros: Slide open keyboard

    Cons: EVERYTHING

This phone is horrible! I have tried to return it twice now, but I am always given the run around. When I went to a verizon store in the mall, the sales person asked me who told me to buy that phone because it was horrible. When I am talking the touc...h screen doesn't always lock (only when it wants to) and I can hear my cheek pushing buttons the whole time. Don't even think of puting it in your pocket, it will continue to push buttons the whole time. However, when you are TRYING to use the touch screen, it doesn't work at all. Trying to check your voicemail and use the touchscreen is impossible. It never hits the right button and it will hang up on you. I never write these reviews, but this phone is TERRIBLE and I don't want anybody else to have this experience. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Read more Less
