Pros: Like it
Cons: Zero
Samsung have some really smart people working on this one.Takes a little know how to fully working , but actually is a good starter camera.I think down the road Samsung will be a leader in electronics when they put the puzzle together.
Pros: good for normal photos, 5 mp, sepia, b &w, color, timer
Cons: everything else
i agree with the person who said don't waste your money on this camera. stick to the better well known brands like canon, sony and nikon. those guys seriously know what they're stuff when it comes to cameras. maybe samsung is good, but this camera is highly disappointing.
Pros: PRICE WAS RIGHT
Cons: NOTHING EASY HERE
WISH I HAD BOUGHT ANOTHER BRAND.
PS/ THIS IS NOT MY ONLY DIGITAL CAMERA.
not a very good 'point and shoot' camera at all.
already being shipped for repairs.
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
dont ever buy this camera. take the money you would spend on it and buy an hp photosmart camera. the samsung is a piece of shit. the only thing it is good for is throwing when you are really pissed, like i am right now. there is no way to burn pics onto cds! what retart would make a camera that cant burn pics to cds! its worthless. their web site is a piece of shit too. it tells you absolutely nothing! the owners manual also tell you jack shit! dont waste your time or money of this fucker. but a hp photosmart instead!
Pros: Excellent value, great feature set
Cons: Slow shutter, will drain alkalines
Was looking to get the highest resolution at the best price I could find. Saw a banner ad !?!(hope no marketing guys see this :)) featuring the 530 and clicked on it...thought it was too good to be true, searched for reviews, found good balance of comments on the previous generation, and a sale on it at Sears of all places! Purchased the cam, tripod, 512MB SD card, and extended warranty(still was not comfortable with samsung quality, but it has been improving), for about $245, the starting point for most in the 5MP range! Print and digital quality has been excellent, I will never go back to film! As stated the shutter is slow, but that's not a problem for the "snapshot" photogs this camera is marketed to. I had been away from serious photography for a while, and bought this camera to ease myself back in...it's manual setting are just varied enough to alow me creative range without being overwelming, and when I just want to take a quick shot of the kids, full auto. Regarding the battery issue: yes, it will drain alkalines quickly, but that's only to be expected; I have had good experience with Ni-MH, but the best life comes from CR-V3 Lithiums. I have quite a few functions in the coming months, and I plan to order the AC pack, as a convenience.
In closing, I have to say that this model is a sleeper, and an excellent choice for the person looking to basically take shots of the family and friends, and occasionally something more adventurous.
Pros: exellant pix quality and easy to use
Cons: a little slow for pro users
can not beat the quality and the price, samsung unknown for cameras but they exceed the expectation, beter pix quality and a lot of futures sound, movies, red eye redu, etc
for very very very cheap price
Pros: Best flexibility in the 5MP compact category. Easy to use for the beginner to the pro. Great image quality.
Cons: Battery hog! Manual features can be overwhelming to a beginner without reading manual.
I was looking for a 5MP digital with wide flexibility in photo selection. I wanted something that had a good choice of manual modes and being easy to use for the novice "shutterbug" as well.
I knew a little about photography before I bought my camera so I knew what I was looking for and wasn't going to allow any showroom salesmen to sway me from my course.
I wanted to stay under $300 with some specific features in mind. I wanted the highest resolution I could find along with manual shutter speeds and manual aperture settings. I wanted white balance flexibility and a wide array of flash combinations such as red eye, fill flash, etc. Zoom capabilities weren't all that important, but this offers a very nice 3X optical zoom and a 4X digital zoom for those EXTREME closeups.
With the camera set to "full auto", it's as easy as any camera to point and shoot and will return wonderful quality snapshots. I like the near portrait ability with all the manual settings and high resolution that borders some lower end SLR digitals without the bulk.
With the plethora of functions available, you have to read the manual to understand how to use this camera to its designed capabilities. I would also STRONGLY suggest you invest in two lithium CR-V3 rechargeable batteries and a charger because this camera eats AA akalines like Rosie O'Donnell at a free buffet! I also purchased a 512MB SD memory card for $50.00 from Ebay which expands the storage capabilities of the camera to almost immeasurable proportions. With medium quality settings, the SD card will store over 2700 images, or will record over 20 minutes worth of AVI video with audio.
I highly recommend this camera if you're looking for a lot of choices for very little money. You can buy better cameras, but they'll cost you considerably more than $250.00 and won't necessarily be any easier or more flexible to use.
Pros: CAMERA CLAIMS TO HAVE LOTS OF FEATURES, BUT VERY BUT NOT USER FRIENDLY
Cons: THIS THING "EATS" AA BATTERIES, IT IS VERY EASY TO MAKE A MISTAKE AND DELETE YOUR PICTURES, THE MOVIE FEATURE AND SOUND IS VERY COMPLICATED TO USE AND VERY SLOW
MY RECOMMENDATION IS SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY ANOTHER BRAND OF CAMERA. THERE ARE MUCH BETTER CAMERAS ON THE MARKET FOR THE PRICE I PAID FOR THIS ONE.
